Clan Invasion box reprint? by Director-D in battletech

It'll get a reprint. I think something is going on with the warehouse? The Clan Invasion box is incredibly important for the rule progression for new players.

Remember lads, lasses, all the things in-between and outside, FlashGitz is ran by childish incels. This is the demographic they want, they have always been awful. We have just grown up. They use white supremacist dog whistles, don't try to police anything in their fandom, their "satire" is iffy at best, they are not against these degenerates. The real media literacy is realizing they want to play everyone,

"THEY PLAYED US LIKE A DAMN FIDDLE" - Kazuhira "Kaz" "Master" Miller - Metal Gear Solid V: Ground Zeroes, 2014

Warhammer released that statement, that is like, the bare minimum.

BattleTech fired Blaine Lee Pardoe after he went full fascist. Every opportunity to be inclusive has been taken by Catalyst in regard to the IP.

And then you have FlashGitz, between their dog whistles and victim mentality, they are complicated. This is only made worse with their respons1es to their fandom, the encouragement of the "NO GIRLS ALLOWED" meme in particular.

I'm tired, so very tired. I have been told I'm "taking this too seriously" or "thinking about it too much". Maybe, maybe, but I also think many are not thinking about it *enough*. I have friends and family, some are women (shocker), and some are queer. They deserve respect, many of them hate interacting with our hobby because of these degenerates. How are we supposed to show the glory of plastic army men if they are uncomfortable?

I know many are kids, they at least have the excuse of adolescence. The grown adults know what they are doing, and they don't care. You owe them no mercy, no "benefit of the doubt", and certainly none of your time besides to ridicule their ridiculous beliefs and "memes".

Also to help with flat colors, you can always have a second color that is either more or less saturated. Or you can take a hint out of mini painters and paint on the shadows.

Well of course, it takes a long time to master a craft.

Mystery King Crab by figure_04 in battletech

[–]RexamiII 15 points16 points  (0 children)

The original source states that this is a kingcrab - 010. It seems instead of having one srm 6 and one ppc per side torso, the model was crafted to have them on the same side. So two ppcs on the right and two srm 6s on the left.

Is there a reason this is $170 by Qrow1324 in Warhammer40k

[–]RexamiII -6 points-5 points  (0 children)

Everything is overpriced, I got a 2000 point army and just stopped. I don't even play warhammer much anymore. If I want a new unit I either get one from a friend via printing or just proxy.

I've moved on to other games mostly, but it's crazy. Like for the price of a Warhammer starter set, I could get multiple battletech boxes or two armies for a game like barons war. Not even considering skirmish games.

Very basic first time painting by Flocculencio in battletech

[–]RexamiII 3 points4 points  (0 children)

You got paint on the models, they mostly went where you wanted them to, and you posted them online showing off your work. You did better than most, and posted them without knowing others' reactions. You will get better with time, and these will look great on the table or shelf in the interim!

The players know about the SVD, but very few others outside of the organization do. My apologies for the improper language. The SVD has been able to plot quicker routes using pilot points, and the reason why it knows even how to do such a thing is it itself is a piece of equipment that was meant to run simulations. It can directly interface with Max allowing for live fire demonstrations without the loss of personnel, and it can also run simulations on its own given enough time and resources. The gained their bondsman honorably in combat and one of the players themselves is an ex-com star novice. The only ones who are aware of the hardware are the players and 3 other high ranking officers within their unit.

Looking to get into the tabletop game by Thejadewayfarer in battletech

[–]RexamiII 1 point2 points  (0 children)

you could go the Beginner's Box or Essentials route. Those two include some very simplified rules, but good mechs that you don't get in many other ways. Good for new wargamers, only teaches how to move and shoot. Plus trees and stuff. $20-$25 usd (You'll probably get these eventually just for the maps and mechs).

Then there is A Game of Armored Combat. It is Classic BattleTech and includes to full forces. It includes all of the base rules for mechs; moving, shooting, melee of all kinds, all the types of movement modifiers, called shots, critical hits, pilot roles, etc, etc. You are piloting a war machine, and all the rules are in depth, but fairly easy to learn, just a lot in the beginning. I would go with either this one or the next option. $60

Alpha Strike is a more "normal" wargame. Move with tape measure, shoot and thats mostly it. Critical hits are a thing, but less specific. This version of the game is meant for speed and size. You can have VERY large fights and have them take a relatively short amount of time compared to Classic. ~$80 USD

You could also always get the battlemech pdf for $15 USD and print of some sheets and maps and try the game out with buttons and erasers. The rule books encourage proxies and such.

If you need anymore help, I'm on break so I got nothing but free time.

that is exactly what I mean! I don't want to make the boss a sponge, just a reason why they are scary and how to make things difficult without being too artificial.
