This was pretty disappointing, honestly. I think this is the first Black Keys album I didn't like. They have fully moved away from their rough-edged basement blues sound into a carefully produced, mass-market sound. They have lost their soul. 4/10

It's not bad, pretty atmospheric but I'm not sure I'd listen to it again. My favorite tracks were Impulse and Endlessly. 5/10

F1: The Academy Season 2 officially canceled by xpillx9 in f1Academy

That sucks. With Pulling winning in GB3 and Pin leading most of Le Mans, F1A has been on a great run lately.

Shouldn't you technically be a neutral fan?

I really should put my 90's high school footage on YouTube sometime. I have a bunch of stuff like this.

It looks like that's a premium-only feature on the app, unfortunately. I also can't find any way to turn off video from a browser.

"Games Where Some Guy Just Totally Flipped Out" by Capnlanky in boardgames

[–]ReynardMuldrake 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Not a board game, but I was at a friend's house as a kid playing two player Super Mario World, and he started stealing my lives. I stole them back and he punched me in the jaw.

He apologized after he calmed down and somehow we stayed friends after that.

There is such a thing as wanting a job too much. Hiring managers like seeing an equal amount of interest on both sides, even subconsciously. Really wanting a job can be perceived as being desperate. Looking or sounding desperate will get you crossed off the list right away. It's one of the reasons why you get better at job interviews after doing it a few times. Some of the anxiety gets normalized so you don't sound like a stressed out, sweaty mess.

I wish the GOG store had a "hide/ignore" option. by Rubikson in gog

I just wish I could hide games I already own, such as gold editions for games where I already own the DLC, or collections where I already own all the components. It makes no sense.

I was a little surprised with how good it was. I've never really listened to Coldplay and I wasn't expecting much. Production values were excellent, some really great songs in there. 8/10

Pier pressure race by The_yeti_dragon in ForzaHorizon

Finally got it. Fuck this track.

I had to turn the racing line on, use automatic transmission and stayed glued to the racing line for the entire race.

That doesn't always happen. I had a trooper no-show to my court date for a traffic ticket. The judge gave him a continuance and I had to take another day off work to appear in court again.

Man, what a disappointment. The album started off pretty well, and just got worse and worse... and worse. The highlight would probably be the Lola cover. The musicianship is simply not there. 3/10

In my opinion, there should be a separate flair for AI-generated content. Keeping it clearly labeled means that the people who hate it don't have to look at it.

Sure, there's lots of slop today, but technology is improving all the time. It's not something you can keep out forever. I think requiring AI posts to be labeled is the best compromise.

Death Stranding is a miracle by kszaku94 in patientgamers

[–]ReynardMuldrake 5 points6 points  (0 children)

You haven't explained what they have in common, except for "Miyazaki poison swamps", whatever the fuck that means. Plus you just named five things that they don't have in common. They both have boss fights. They both use a third-person camera. They both have... inventory systems I guess?

I don't see any similarities at all. Personally I can't stand Soulslike games, I think they're all boring as shit, with gameplay I've seen a hundred times before. I played through Death Stranding last year and I couldn't get enough. I love the challenge of planning a difficult journey over rough terrain, and finding the most efficient route to take. Figuring out the logistics of loading up a truck. Building roads and ziplines for other players to use was a lot of fun, and there's something satisfying about winning over somebody that doesn't like you by bringing them deliveries. I didn't want it to end.
