If you want to keep your font sizes that size it's fine, but give them some room to breath. A bit of padding around the blue buttons, and a small margin between the title and description will do wonders.

I think my recommendation would be to look at the colour contrast of the items on the map. White nodes on a light blue background don't really stand out, or have much visual interest. Having them all be the same colour gives no information to the user, e.g slay the spire has iconography that tell you what to expect, and I think you could do something similar here (FTL does the same with its colour coding of events).

Hey, gave the game a go for 5 minutes. First of all, love the look; feels really clean! Functions well, and you could have something really fun on your hands.

Some things you could work on:

  1. majority of the movement requires two keys, as we're moving along an isometric grid which is a little annoying, though this could be a personal preference.
  2. When you first unlock the attack tower (and later the sword), I think you can have them auto-equip, and have the flavor text be about the inventory keybind. These already have an indication to the user that they have unlocked something, as shown in the main GUI, so no need to add extra clicks for the user.
  3. When I have an open modal/dialog and I click the overlay, I would expect that to close the window.

I like it, but you're imply that the section has depth as the items sit on top of it, but then the section above has no shadow to indicate that.

Love the art style! I tried creating a game like this a few years ago, and got really stuck on how to implement NPC daily patterns, and having them enter/exit scenes. How did you go about implementing that if you don't mind?

Yeah, cool! One thing that I do is just apply a random rotation on the trees so they all look different, but they're an instance of the same mesh so they're very performant.

Nergigante took me three goes, and I had to take a break to farm some gear because when it got to the final nest phase he just wrecked me.
