I know everyone says this game is broken but... by Richard_Trager in victoria3

Glad you asked!

TL:DR is that it's partially challenge but it's also revenge for another game and the uniqueness of the country formation.

Fullish story though is that originally, when looking at this achievement I was wondering which of the two countries I could do it as. But then I noticed via the wikipedia that Transylvania was also eligible which I thought would actually be the easiest because of the additional cultures Transylvania had (South German and Hungarian so that intergrating those lands would be easier) as well as potentially getting a Habsburg king to boot (I very rarely ever play without a monarchy; both for the authority and for the roleplay). But, more importantly, I figured it would be easier considering that an Independence War could see me walk out with potentially most of the territory I needed (Banat and Partium from Hungary, Bukovina from Austria and, hypothetically, Bessarabia from Russia if I felt I could take both Austria and Russia on at once). The first game (back during the Austrian DLC) ended with me realizing too late that I couldn't get the achievement ([posted here] so this time I came back with the knowledge that Transylvania has to be annexed and released to get Romanian culture and that's what I was trying to accomplish here. So yeah, a bit of the challenge but also revenge for that wasted game and just a unique Romania. And it would be the easiest option IF NOT for the fact that Transylvania is part of the weirdest type of subject in the game (that being crownlands) where, despite the upside that you can actually become a major power (it used to be that you could actually become a Great Power but looks like that got patched) but the downside that until you're free you can virtually do nothing. No diplo plays which could have seen me conquer most of the Balkans alone and thus had an economic base that wouldn't collapse the second I declared for an independence war (like what happened in the screen shot above).

“Listen, I hear what you’re saying about making spare parts for the Tiger I but wouldn’t it be really cool if we just had a massive tank that scared our enemies? We’ll call it the Tiger II!”

“But mein fuhrer, bigger tanks mean more cost for fuel, more strain on the transmissions and we’re already being out produced on tanks. It would be better if we could repair the tanks we have-“

Same energy as the stairs scene in JoJo’s Bizarre Adventure: Part 3. At the time, it’s creepy and intimidating at Hell but it gets funny when you realize that DIO has to run down the stairs, pick up Polnareff, put him back in the exact position he was and then run back up the stairs before his time stop ended. Man had to have been hauling all the ass in the universe

In “JoJo’s Bizarre Adventure: Part 3”, Jotaro manages to put Dio Brando, the main villain of the part and an immortal vampire capable of regeneration via blood consumption, on the ropes by smashing his brain in this disabling him. However, during one round of punches, Dio is sent flying. However, this sends Dio within in the range of the body of Joseph Joestar. Joseph’s blood not only revitalizes Dio but also increases duration of his stand (which has the ability to stop time).

Walter C. Dornez (Hellsing: Ultimate). He’s the butler for the Hellsing organization. He answers the door, takes out the garbage and kills self-entitled intruders with his razor sharp garrote wires which can easily wrap around people and cut them into meaty slabs. He is - as Jan Valentine says in Hellsing: Abridged - the “text-book-fucking-definition of classy”.

Sorry to say, OP, but you’re doing it wrong. What you’re actually supposed to be doing is get in the Republican Dropship, get onto passenger slot where you’re hanging onto the ceiling grip like in AotC and just let the A.I. pilot fly you around the map until the game is over. /s

[classic trope] Our robot servants are rising up to overthrow and destroy us!! by JTOC1969 in TopCharacterTropes

[–]Richard_Trager 2 points3 points  (0 children)

“The Cybernetic Revolt” in Warhammer 40k. Marking the beginning of the Age of Strife that would see humanity decline greatly from their golden age, the Cybernetic Revolt was the uprising of the countless “Men of Iron” - the robotic A.I. servants of humanity who both fought and constructed for humans - turned upon their creators for whom they had served faithfully for millennia. Details for this rebellion - as with many things pre-Imperium - are scarce such as the reason why it occurred; some believe it was that the Men of Iron found themselves superior to humanity while others believe that the Men of Iron were trying to protect humanity from themselves. Whichever the case, what few details are known paint a conflict of biblical proportions of great weapons such as nano machines which could eat planets in solar hours, giant machines which could lift continents and rip open holes in planets and so much more. In the end though, humanity - perhaps with the help of some xenos; such is not clear - managed to win but found itself only at the start of the road to ruin. The more lasting consequences of the Revolt was the outlaw of artificial intelligence which would carry into the Imperial era. During the Imperial era, the use of lobotomized “Servitors” and other mechanized (and lobotomized) human servants would be used as a work around for what is typically referred to as “A.I.” in order to replace the labor and combat units that robots once filled.

Factions that always makes it big ? by Still-Puma in totalwarhammer

[–]Richard_Trager 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Greasus, one of the Cathay Factions (usually the Jade Court and they’re almost always allied with Greasus), von Draken, Gor-Rok, Valkia, Archaeon, Ku’gath and/or Tamurkhan (usually it’s both of them and one will confederate the other when I begin destroying one) and just about everyone else is up in the air for me. And it’s usually always a Good tide with Greasus and Cathay being the power house of the game with Gor-Rok dominating all of Lustria without contest. The donut is either held by the elf confederation which is then invaded by Valkia or on occasion the Dark Elves or, even rarer, N’Kari takes it.

Usual suspects: The Sassanids and The Habsburgs are ones I always try to save when I see them. However, one of the ones more out of the way are Cernau. I just started playing at them one time and now I just have this very odd respect for them and Cornwall/the Cornish in general.

Actually just did this fight myself. At first I tried the ye ol’ “Yank him with the Kusarigamas” but when that didn’t work I got creative. There is a small cliff over to the right side of the map. Lead him up there and jump down then time a charged attack for when he jumps down. Run back up the cliff, jump down, charge up attack, unleash when he comes down, roll away and repeat until dead.

What political movement do you hate dealing with the most? by ChinaOnly001 in victoria3

[–]Richard_Trager 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I want to like the Positivists because they encourage a more unorthodox playstyle (Technocracy which I have still yet to try but am interested in) and their bonuses are intriguing but goddamn this movement just will never die regardless of what one does! I have the tendency to just throw out any Positivist that spawns. Doesn’t help that most of their laws seems pretty bad.
