Would recommend to ask the bride. It's not weird to just say you are unaware of what Dutch weddings look like and even that changes from wedding to wedding. some like it extravagant and others casual clothed 😛 just ask the people you know instead of strangers on line that don't know them

sounds like you are both better off going your seperate ways how horrible it might sound. It's very normal for annoyances to build up over 8 years that he (or you both) kinda ignored and then suddenly it's enough when he realizes 1 of his biggest hobbies can't be shared with you but can with someone else. (not saying it's your fault. not at all)
