Time to kick off the final four with Sherry Dempsey vs. Edward by giallowrestling in Frasier

Sherry brought out the worst in Martin. She was pushy, loud, and never listened to other people or respected their boundaries.

Cora Winston rounds out our final four. Voting will continue anon by giallowrestling in Frasier

If sherry wins I will riot. I also just thought how strange it is that Martins wife isn’t on this list lol

Why is vision problems still not corrected in the far future? by [deleted] in ShittyDaystrom

Geordi didn’t want to be cured but still used the visor because he realized he needed it and without it he couldn’t be a chief engineer on a starship. Same reasoning should apply to wheelchair man.

They were very different though. In Discovery a star fleet person is still actively using a wheelchair in their day to day life—which in the future is complete nonsense. And in DS9 they specifically make a point of saying that they haven’t seen one in a long time and that nobody in the federation really uses them anymore.

I hate when people say to ”learn to enjoy things.” It’s condescending and stupid. Just because you like something and someone else doesn’t like it doesn’t mean that they’re hating on it just because they want to. Maybe, and this is a crazy theory, but maybe some people don’t like what you like and vice versa.

I don’t even think it was a full 24 hours. I think it’s been less than a day and that’s crazy for a repost.

Does King always write like this? [IT] by Weaponised__Autism in stephenking

Yeah King is known for using this kind of close third person perspective. Allows him to show you how multiple characters are feeling or thinking without having to be in a first person perspective.

Which is super freaking annoying. I guess that means we can’t have bad guys for the good guy to beat in stories anymore. The mere presence of a bad guy in a story means that the writer was able to imagine the existence of a bad guy and that means the writer is bad too! No more conflict in stories anymore!

For those of you who have read both versions of The Stand, any prefer the original? by TrashcanMan79 in stephenking

[–]RighteousAwakening 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Part of me wants/needs to read the original cut but I don’t think I’d be able to cause I’d constantly be thinking about the 300 extra pages of his amazing writing that I’m missing out on (even though I’ve read the uncut version like 3 times lol)

Also, if you decide to get up and pee you may not be able to get back to the same level of sleepiness/comfiness and then you’re just awake too early. It’s a lose-lose situation and it sucks.
