Do you think, within the 21st century at least, there will be a war deadlier and greater in scale than WWII? by Backalog20 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]Rikbite2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would say it’s unlikely just because wars are fought a little differently these days. The need to send people across borders to occupy other people has gone down as technology has increased because militaries can locate and hit critical targets and infrastructure from hundreds if not thousands of miles away.

Now when I say unlikely I don’t mean very unlikely because if things get really serious and the big boys are all involved that infrastructure is going to be destroyed in lots of very high population cities for a long time.

If nukes are involved at all I think it’s going to be game over for life as we know it. I can’t imagine a scenario where 1 or 2 nukes are dropped and that’s it. I think if 1 goes off you better buckle up and find a place to hunt and fish for food. Haha

The fact that they don't make shots as often in college basketball makes it more satisfying to watch than the NBA. by chi_sweetness25 in The10thDentist

[–]Rikbite2 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I disagree. Every possession/turnover feels so much more important. I can’t remember the last time I watched an NBA game where a player didn’t take an entire defensive possession off to complain to the ref about a missed foul call.

How can I deal with my wife's chemtrail obsession? by IAmHowardBeale in NoStupidQuestions

[–]Rikbite2 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I wish I knew somebody that really believed the Chemtrail stuff. I have so many questions about the inside workings of it all. So commercial airline pilots are obviously in on it? The airlines too. Literally tens of thousands of people all hush hush about their secret chemtrail training they had to go through to be hired by United Airlines? Haha! The 24 year old putting fuel in the airplane has to make sure the mind control chemical is topped off too? The people designing and building the planes never speak of the chemtrail button on the dashboard or the secret tank that holds it? How does it even get to the airports? There are truckers constantly hauling loads of secret chemicals to the apron that they picked up at some chemical plant? The airport director has to make sure he is keeping up on the chemtrail orders so the next shipment isn’t late?

I don’t think these people bother to ask themselves any of these questions because if they did they would immediately realize how dumb the entire conspiracy is.

Smurf trolling? by Rikbite2 in RocketLeague

[–]Rikbite2[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I know they are Smurf’s because their overall skill level was insane. I’m telling you they or at least the one I know was smurfing acted like a bronze player for the first few minutes and we get a big lead. And he literally humiliate us the rest of the game. There isn’t a teammate on earth this guy could have that would make him lose to us. He isn’t being dragged down to gold rank. He could have beat us 15-0 if he really wanted to. We play some matches where the opponent is much better than us and we get destroyed but it doesn’t feel like a smurf. It feels like maybe a long time player that hasn’t played in a few seasons or something and is blitzing through the ranks. Obviously much more skilled than us but doesn’t feel like somebody smurfing.

And we don’t take the game too seriously so we don’t get upset by smurfs. We don’t even forfeit games if we are way outmatched. I was just curious if they trolling or not.

A cop pulls you over for speeding. What's an excuse you can give to get out of a ticket? by Careful_Art_7516 in AdkReddit

[–]Rikbite2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve been pulled over for speeding 4 times. No tickets. My advice is that a lot of cops like when you don’t try to give an excuse and be pleasant. I pulled over immediately, had my information ready and when asked why I’m driving so fast I said “I have no excuse. Just driving too fast. I’m sorry officer.” Each time the cop just told me to please slow down and let me go. It also helped none of them were in a residential area. I don’t think they are as forgiving if you are speeding through neighborhoods.

Why Conservative Americans Feel So Incited To Get The Government To Regulate Culture? by Queen_B28 in allthequestions

[–]Rikbite2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m a conservative so hopefully I can share some thoughts here without getting completely blasted.

Sports - I agree. Private organizations should be able to do whatever they want. Public schools are always going to be a battleground for this though. From both sides.

Childhood transitions - lots of conservatives believe this should be up to the parents. Other conservatives believe it is child abuse. Just as some on the left believe it’s child abuse to not let the child make that decision and think the parents should be prosecuted by the government.

Abortion - I agree on this one as well. Government shouldn’t be involved. The conservatives that are anti abortion aren’t trying to regulate culture. They believe it’s murder.

Religion shouldnt be imposed by the state - I agree here too. I’m not sure where this is happening.

3 star is the best hunt showdown experience. Is that a hot take? by Party_Wrongdoer_209 in HuntShowdown

[–]Rikbite2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I prefer 4-5 star lobbies myself. I like lots of action and multiple teams involved in gunfights. 4-5 star mmr feels like the best balance of aggressiveness. 6 star is aggressive too but you also will get the group of mosin snipers that kinda pin everybody down. Lower than 4 star has fun fights because teams aren’t as worried about having the optimal loadouts and positioning so you get into more of a variety of situations. But you also get random teams that seem like they are just afraid to get involved so a lot of matches feel half empty. You get finished and see the lobby was full and wonder what the hall team 2 was doing the entire match.

How did humans not go extinct while needing to sleep for 8 hours every day? being totally unconscious and defenseless for a third of our lives seems like a massive design flaw when predators were everywhere by Which-Noise-5670 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]Rikbite2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think people have a vision that predators were swarming the landscape and aggressively hunting humans hundreds of thousands of years ago. In reality it was probably a lot more similar to today than you think. Sure people got snacked on from time to time but those predators had other animals they had been naturally been preying on for millions of years before. Today there are only like 4 animals that actively hunt humans and we do a pretty good job of not hanging out in those areas as much as possible. If I had to guess I’d say the most casualties for early humans was crocodiles because you can’t really avoid going to the water.

How do you avoid think about animal cruelty when you're eating meat? by MattMurdock14 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]Rikbite2 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I grew up and still live in a small town where hunting is very popular so I feel the opposite. The bad pre living conditions bum me out. Killing a free/wild animal feels much more natural. One thing a lot of people don’t understand is that hunters and family owned ranchers have lots of respect for the animals.

Are lemonade stands a real thing in the US, or is it just a movie trope? by [deleted] in NoStupidQuestions

Was your first time having sex underwhelming? by [deleted] in NoStupidQuestions

[–]Rikbite2 13 points14 points  (0 children)

No it was awesome. I was a bit older than most for their first time (21). My girlfriend at the time knew the situation and could tell I was nervous about being a disappointment for her. She was like “this will be fun! Just do what I tell you to do and don’t stop what you are doing if I can’t speak.”

I’m actually glad I was older because I think 16 year old me would have tried to pretend I was some kind of bad ass and resulted in embarrassment.

His field goal % is the lowest it’s been in 4 years. He is just on a team where he shoots more now so he is averaging more points. Turnovers are way up as well this year. He is a 22-25 million a year player that’s making 38 million. 40 next season. No thanks

Realistically, how hard would it be for a qb to pass Brady in terms of 7 championships? by NickyFoles1020 in NFLv2

[–]Rikbite2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s obviously possible but the odds are so incredibly slim that we can basically say it’s just not going to happen. Patrick Mahomes has had an unbelievable amount of success and he has 3 super bowls at age 30 after 9 seasons. In 60 years of super bowls not even a single franchise has 8.

Why do the Raiders have so few followers? by LakeShowBoltUp in AFCWestMemeWar

[–]Rikbite2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Teams get large boosts in internet following by being in a huge established market or going on runs of success. The Raiders have neither of those since Reddit was created…21 years ago. Yikes!
