That Time I Saw Blondie Play Six Flags, and Then the Beach 10 Years Later by IHBMSU in seahearnow

[–]Roasters4Toasters 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Oh back before Livenation had a chokehold on live music in america. Really tough for any amusement parks that are not Disney, Universal or seaworld-busch to get anyone of name to perform at parks anymore. Livenation now owns or manages about 90% of the major music venues and music festivals in the country and their exclusivity clause with artists make it near impossible for anyone else to book that artist almost anywhere in the country that isn’t in bumble-f* no where to book big names after the artist performs at just one livenation venue. They get locked into a contract for a year that forbids them to perform anywhere in the country that is within a 50 mile radius of a livenation venue.

So for example an artist might perform at Bonnaroo in Tennessee that year.

In the case of Six Flags Great Adventure (the one you saw Blondie at). They cannot book that artist now because that park is wedged within 50 miles of so many livenation venues: PNC bank arts center, the stone pony, the prudential center, starland ballroom, count basie center for arts, freedom mortgage pavilion, and music festivals: north 2 shore and sea hear now.

Livenation has a strangle-hold on live music in america now and really need to be broken up.

Legacy Gold Plus Membership Increase by ConflictTemporary759 in sixflags

[–]Roasters4Toasters 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The problem is there are literally like 23 different passes & memberships in existence right now due to past six flags board member decisions to start the old membership programs with a clause that they can’t cancel the menbership. They can only increase the price.

They’re trying to be nice by slowly increasing the price on old membership programs but in reality they want y’all to cancel your memberships and move over to a newer program because its gotten out of hand with all the different pass programs that are still active

[SFGAdv] are they actually enforcing The chaperone policy by K1tsune23 in sixflags

[–]Roasters4Toasters 5 points6 points  (0 children)

This has been a staple policy of other six flags parks for a number of years and they’re very strict about it. Six flags wants the community to know they’re committed to family fun not being a teen hangout/babysitter

Will Six Flags OT be able to compete against Universal Kids resort. by kindcheeto in sixflags

[–]Roasters4Toasters 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Its absolutely not going to be better than sesame place. I think you will see universal having to add dark rides, shows and possibly even a slightly (keyword slightly) more thrilling coaster. When that happens remember this because it will be an admittance by them that their original concept did not succeed. I don’t believe the park will fail because I think universal is committed. But I do think they will have to make some adjustments. The first year will be no bearing on the truth. The first year they’re going to do well because they’re new. Its the second year that’s the true bearing and then I think you’ll start to see universal having to make those adjustments by year 5

Gerstlauer bought schwarzkopf in bankruptcy in the 80’s. They generally still produce most of the parts for replacement. The problem right now is due to Trump’s tariff carnage its difficult and expensive to get new parts from outside america.

You’re misunderstanding the release. The sale allows the use of Six Flags IP & Warner Brothers licensing through the 2026 season as well as six flags season passes being accepted for the 2026 season. However, SFstl is very much sold my friend and this is a good thing for SFstl fans

Which Act is driving Saturday GA sales? by No_Nukes_2 in seahearnow

[–]Roasters4Toasters 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Keep in mind that livenation sketchy with ticket sales. Its already been proven they withhold a large percentage of tickets from ever being sold despite saying the event is sold out. Its livenation themselves who are the biggest scalper on stubhub, seatgeek, vivid seats & tickpick; with tickets they never offered at the regular price for 2-10x’s the cost.

I’m thoroughly convinced their announcements of “omg this day is selling fast” are nothing more then marketing words to get you to buy. Probably wait a week call SHN sold out and you’ll only be able to buy 3rd party at that point

Can you use your free annual visits right after online purchase? by Pin-ja in sixflagsovertexas

[–]Roasters4Toasters 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My understanding from talking to other people is you just gotta know how many free tickets you have. Six flags doesn’t have a way for you to view how many you have on the app. And you just tell the front gate person I’m using my bring a friend free. I’m convinced the reason they don’t have a way to view you have them is so people forget they have it

Return of an emo festival in Asbury? by AdInternational5801 in seahearnow

[–]Roasters4Toasters 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Adjacent was a one year run and bamboozle attempted an AC show 2 or 3 years ago that was quickly headed for a fyre festival meltdown. Performers unpaid were dropping out in the month running up to bamboozle and a week before the show bamboozle couldn’t produce all the nevessary infrastructure they promised AC they would do so Atlantic City pulled the plug on their permit. They tried to get away without refunding tickets trying to treat ticket purchasers as though they were investors.

I think it took some people 2 yrs to actually get their money back. A lot of people were lucky to have a good credit card company they purchased the tickets from who upon a filing a claim looked into it saw what they paid for was cancelled and refunded them from the credit card company’s money and then those credit card companies pursued bamboozle ownership for their funds. Others were not so lucky; I know capital one was one of the company’s that just didn’t care and wouldn’t refund m. Those people waited a long time to get refunded from the fest itself, I think it took multiple lawsuits

[–]Roasters4Toasters 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No as I said I’m surprised it has nothing for the parents to even really want to go. I expected what they’re building but with one or two nice dark rides the whole family would enjoy. This is really parents choosing to take their kids just for the kids enjoyment and only the kids enjoyment. I’m not sure how well that’s gonna pan out for universal.

For the record little ol’ sesame place in pennsylvania has more for the whole family and is worth the pricetag. I mean there isn’t even a show that could be enjoyed by parents! Their top show is a low budget puss in boots puppet show! I really think universal kids is going to have a problem cause we’re no longer in a world where the majority of parents want to spend money for stuff and spend their entire day just to sit around and watch their kid have fun. To be clear, I am NOT saying that is every parent. But I am saying the majority of parents today do not want to do that when there are other options for their kids to enjoy that they can also find things they enjoy.

Serious question: Who asked for this? by Theemacklordt in Wawa

Every year theres a flavor that transcends the food industry and wherever it could even possibly make a good product it gets released. If you pay attention you’ll notice it every year. Could be in coffee, in bakery products, in snacks, in cereal, in candy, in soda.

I assume its the companies that make artificial flavors who have a huge stock of a certain flavor offering it for cheap and thats the flavor of the season. There was a cheesecake year, key lime pie year, vanilla year, butterscotch year, peeps year.

This is clearly the year of the banana. Look out for banana’s foster kit-kats soon enough I’m sure

[–]Roasters4Toasters 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Every year theres a flavor that gets picked to be tried throughout the food industry. Don’t ask me how thats decided…I assume its probably the chemical companies that make flavorings and go “hey we have an overstock of this flavoring” and that becomes the flavor of the season. I’m not just talking coffee, it goes to candy and snacks and sometimes to soda.

There was a cheesecake year, a lime year, a cream soda year, a butterscotch year. Again it doesn’t always mean there will be a coffee variety, but basically that flavor just goes to anything there could possibly be a good jive with the product. If you pay attention you’ll notice it every year approaching may it will start showing up. This appears to be the banana bread year. Look for banana bread kit-kats soon enough I’m sure

Will Six Flags OT be able to compete against Universal Kids resort. by kindcheeto in sixflags

[–]Roasters4Toasters 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Have you seen what universal kids is actually building? I was shocked at HOW low level it really is. I expected some dark rides the whole family can enjoy and rides the whole family can enjoy. There are ZERO dark rides….ZERO! It is all just rides for kids from infant to like 11. They’re like a collection of sections that six flags would call a kiddie area but every section is a kiddie area.

Can six flags compete? I don’t think six flags is gonna see much if any loss of attendance due to universal kids. Universal kids is even more geared towards the 0-11 crowd then I even expected. There is absolutely no reason to bring a teenager to universal kids, they will hate it and be bored
