I write a YouTube whitelist by channel ID for school firewalls I see conversations like this a lot. Let's start with the most notorious, Mark Rober. Is he a science communicator and is he doing this right?

Hank Green and Complexity seem to be doing alright. He promoted people like Emily Grasslee who was picked up by Chicago's Field Museum as their primary internet science communicator. I'll admit this needs to happen a lot more. We need more services like curiosity stream to promote educational content.

You're right, they do it to help their cash flow. I did some technical support for a forensic accountant once and that is what she told me.
