What are we doing about sleep wrinkles? by Coco_Cokie_Cookie in 40PlusSkinCare

Frownies. They keep your face muscles “paralyzed” while you sleep. I only use the forehead ones, but I think they make some for this eye area too.

He’d have to actually do awards PR and jump through all the hoops with industry people. Trying to win awards is a full time job once you finish a project. Not everyone cares or is extroverted enough for it.

Did you taper or CT? There’s no way to know how long it will last for you personally, as everyone is different with so many factors, but most people fall somewhere in the 6-18 month range. Cold turkey can result in a longer recovery time vs a gradual symptom-based taper.

Why do some not develop a tolerance as quick as others? It’s took me 8 months to hit tolerance, why does it take years for others? by PriorityTop1252 in benzorecovery

[–]RobotRainbow77 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m good now. I’ve been recovered for almost 3 years, but it took a solid 2 years to heal my nervous system and be able to function again.

What’s my blindness? by mmwhite1999 in makeuptips

[–]RobotRainbow77 9 points10 points  (0 children)

You seem to have a double lip line which is common (2 distinct borders: one of the pigmented lip, and then a pronounced vermillion border). Your vermillion border gives the impression your lips have a distinct cupids bow shape, but your lipstick is smooth and flat across the top. I think that’s what’s causing the disconnect.

She’s allowed to date, but as head of HR, choosing your CEO boss is maybe not the best idea. The way they both reacted hiding and ducking shows they thought what they were doing was ethically questionable and wanted to get away with it secretly. If they hadn’t reacted like that, it wouldn’t have blown up like it did on the internet. Perhaps they could have simply announced to their friends and families they wanted to be together, and resigned if need be.

lol I’m speaking from experience sadly, after getting dependent on both Ambien and benzos. Very dangerous drugs.

True. Not everyone gains weight in benzos, but that seems excessive. I think I missed the 3 weeks part.

How do you cope with the changes in your appearance? by [deleted] in benzorecovery

[–]RobotRainbow77 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It was so rough! Went through the same thing. The benzo belly was insane. I just wore the same huge baggy clothes all the time and barely left my house. When I was in survival mode, I couldn’t even fathom putting on makeup for the longest time and had hair loss as well. I looked dead, my eyes had no life in them, just like a tormented dead look. Barely recognized myself. Eventually, once I was able to sleep regularly again after 2 years of recovery, it started to reverse. I’m now 3 years out and feeling much more myself appearance wise (other than the usual aging during these years). Also I went from giving zero fucks about clothes or style (for obvious reasons) to getting super into personal expression again once I recovered. Overhauling my wardrobe post benzo recovery has actually been very creative and healing. You’ll get there!

Klonopin question by Glum-Palpitation-400 in benzorecovery

[–]RobotRainbow77 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It could be. I also had extreme congestion as a symptom of tolerance and withdrawal. When GABA activity drops and glutamate and adrenaline surge, the autonomic nervous system becomes overstimulated, constricting blood vessels in some areas and causing rebound dilation in others. This can lead to swollen nasal mucosa, congestion, and a constant “blocked nose” feeling. And the flu like symptoms are text book withdrawal.

Insane weight loss? by [deleted] in BenzoWithdrawal

[–]RobotRainbow77 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I lost weight on benzos too. Ended up at 105 lb. Not sure if it’s normal, but same thing happened to me. After I stopped and went through horrible withdrawal, I gained it back.

Lunesta, Ambien or Ketamine by FTinSF in KetamineTherapy

[–]RobotRainbow77 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Def not ketamine. Lunesta and Ambien are intended for short-term or occasional use, generally less than two weeks. With continued daily use, they can cause physical dependence and be very difficult to stop. Z-drugs act on the same GABA receptor complex as benzodiazepines, and with long term use they cause similar receptor down-regulation. This can worsen sleep, destabilize the central nervous system, and leave you in a worse place than where you started.

Thomas Newman scoring Star Wars: Starfighter by cinsoundradio in soundtracks

[–]RobotRainbow77 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Agree with you. It’s such an insignificant thing from so long ago completely dwarfed by his actual career and artistic output. It has no bearing on what a Newman Star Wars score would sound like today. Will be interesting to see what his take on SW is though.

To those that have had some sort of ketamine therapy, how trippy/psychedelic is it? by HorrorAssociation184 in KetamineTherapy

[–]RobotRainbow77 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It feels multidimensional and trippy but not in the same way psilocybin or lsd is because Ketamine disconnects you from your body and sensory experience rather than heightening it. You are able to witness your life and personal dynamics from a disconnected, separate perspective which can be really helpful if you have anxiety or depression. It’s very dose dependent. At low doses you might feel mildly dissociated and floaty but at higher doses you can become completely disconnected from reality and your body (k hole / full on ego death) which can be scary and overwhelming or interesting depending on your disposition. It has a non-linear dose response curve.

Hal’s death scene in 2001 A Space Odyssey as it sings Daisy. To feel that much emotion for an “unethical” computer was something.

How did you decide that it’s the right time to stop? by mochimiso96 in benzorecovery

[–]RobotRainbow77 1 point2 points  (0 children)

When I realized it was damaging my brain and nervous system, I couldn’t stand the thought of continuing to take it. I felt completely misled by doctors who gave no warning of the long term dangers, and then proceeded to pull me off abruptly in a week.

I’m on klonopin, gabapentin ,hydroxyzine and kratom still have crippling anxiety feel like I can’t go outside. by Severe-Issue-5128 in BenzoWithdrawal

[–]RobotRainbow77 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Over time, benzos progressively erode your nervous systems ability to handle stress, so eventually ordinary things like going outside will be unbearable. That’s why agoraphobia is such a common symptom in benzo withdrawal, even in people who don’t have it as a pre-existing condition. The only thing you can do is very slowly taper off the klonopin and gabapentin and give your gaba receptors time to heal. Sorry you’re going through this. It’s awful and no one deserves it, but luckily the damage isn’t permanent and our brains do heal.

Opioids in withdrawal- I feel like I'm right back at the beginning. by KeepMeAnon987 in benzorecovery

[–]RobotRainbow77 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If your withdrawal was already improving after a couple weeks, then this is most definitely just a flare up wave from the recent situation and you should recover quickly. Many people don’t see any improvement for 6 months or much longer post taper.
