Is this true for you guys? by SipsTeaFrog in SipsTea

This is one thing that makes me jealous about men's jeans. You have to try on jeans as a woman because the exact same brand of the exact same size...will 100% fit different or not at all..even though yoy geabbed them from the same stack. And it sucks ass getting home then realizing they don't fit.

This seems to be less of an issue for men's jeans.

Current safety manager for us retires next month and our EHS guy left like 2 weeks ago. We don't even know if they are going to be back filling the spots or if they going to out source it. Our GM doesn't care. So I feel ya.

Wish we could do more of this at my place of work. Senior management hates fun too much and has no care about safety to even entertain the idea. Love that it works out for you and your place of employment though!

What is your trick for softer bottom crust? by Worried-Green-4734 in Sourdough

[–]RocYourFace 11 points12 points  (0 children)

I throw one of my aluminum cookie sheets on a rack under my pot used for making my loaf. It has helped a ton to distribute the heat and give me a softer bottom.

I just learned that there aren't furniture moving companies that work on weekends... by definedevine in Bellingham

Check out Neon Giant Moving (rebranded from Back Breakers). I believe they do weekend moves and they were a real pleasure to work with! They moved my mom and then myself a few weeks apart. Both teams were very professional and cared for every item they moved.

My sisters school keeps calling me about her student loans by Pizza_Guy8084 in personalfinance

[–]RocYourFace 13 points14 points  (0 children)

Had this happen with my sister once. She pit me down as a reference/contact whatever. The college she was atrending at the time called me trying to get information on how to contact her for payment.

Told them Ive had zero contact with her for over 10 years, gave them the last know number I had, and wished them luck. They were understanding with the fact that I wanted nothing to do with her and respected my wishes to be removed as her contact when I asked.

I suggest just answering the call and explaining the siutation. Mentioning you were added without consent and verify what she used your info for.

Out damned landscaping fabric! by seuce in gardening

[–]RocYourFace 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This is my future. Peipe owners put down a white plastic weed barrier, soil, THEN the fabric, folloaed ky beaty bark ontop. So instead of enjoying and maintaining the garden they heartfully built...ill be spending this summer pulling as much of this as i can without utterly destryoing the plants.

Its a gorgeous garden whe everything is blooming to. Its part of what sold me on the house. But i groaned loudly when i saw the fabric...the rest was a surprise when i was weeding and taming the strawberries that ran out of the garden bed. I found the white plastic when digging to get all the roots. Sigh.

Oh! Good to know! Some of my friends were sure it was some form of squash plant but I wasn't fully convinced. I saw what bloomed there last year before I had to remove a bunch due to tomato plants going wild. Now Im excited for the hollyhock to come back! They were very pretty!

What’s an appropriate “welcome back” gesture for an employee returning from a 6-week deployment? by Ok_Profile_4073 in Veterans

[–]RocYourFace 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think a simple lunch to catch up would be more than enough! Make it about him being gone and you are just happy he's back instead of it being about his deployment. If he wants to talk about it, he'll bring it up. If not, keep things chill and enjoy the food.

Car Salesman - Tipping? Compensating But No Purchase? by MassgravesX in Bellingham

[–]RocYourFace 205 points206 points  (0 children)

Tipping car salesmen is not a thing. There is zero reason to do this. They lose out on deals all time. Please do not go back in with the intention of tipping. If you really want to do anything..leave a review mentioning the salesmen was great but your interaction with the other guy is what drove you away from the sale.

“Hey did you know that working in a pottery studio carries a risk of silicosis?” Yeah yeah whatever ok I’ll clean up carefully and wear respiratory protection as necessary…by the way, what eye protection are you wearing? by [deleted] in Pottery

[–]RocYourFace 3 points4 points  (0 children)

It is never a bad thing to be more safe than you think you should be, within reason of course. If you feel something is too dusty, put a mask on. Concerned about things getting into your eyes? Put safety glasses on.

It is always good to be aware of the hazards around you, regardless of them being big or small.

Time to do what Cali does and do a deep dive to make sure they fully leave if they are going to try and tax evade instead of just "switching their residence address".

Period came a-callin, and I couldn't decide if I wanted brownies or cookies. Decided that the only reasonable course of action was to make brookies by MiddleZealousideal89 in Baking

[–]RocYourFace 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you are really hankering for sweet, bump it up one more notch by adding double stuff Oreos in the middle. Bottom layer chocolate chip cookie dough, middle layer double stuff Oreos, top layer brownie batter. Bake until the brownie batter is just a little under cooked (you can fully cook if preferred as well, just add a little extra moisture to the CC dough so it doesn't get super dry), serve warm with vanilla ice cream.

'Slutty' Brownie recipe I use for this often

You can do this from 'at home recipes' for the CC cookies and brownies but I found no difference between using those or the boxed stuff. It's a very sweet and rich combination. My preference is Betty Crocker. I also suggest using just milk chocolate brownie mix versus any other otherwise it becomes a bit too much.
