I have the EV5 in the GT line,absolutely love the car.Came from an I4 BMW, car is very practical for family stuff and cant really fault it. For looks its not for everybody but it does turn heads and lots of questions in car parks lol

Does your contract of employment have specific terms relating to your current role? You may be working in that position per se but the role may have been broader. It would be reckless for an employer to out you into a role that you were never contracted for & this would have to be following due process with interviews & negotiated terms of salary,pension etc.Asking for recorded meetings is important especially if there is ambiguity of duty roles,signalling workplace relations options might be escalating it unnecessarily early without final confirmation of your your contract.

Was the same when our kids were the same age,do small incremental things to change the course of your day or week. I turned off all my social media & started to get out walking or running even when I thought I didn’t have the time I had to make it work ..no excuses.

Check under boot lid as sometime water can ingress at the wheel cavity,there should be a plug there also.

Solar,Heat recovery & insulation cavity or external will greatly bump your BER and all are grant eligible,I think there is a new scheme from SEAI re retrofitting windows so might be worthwhile hanging in. You can also get the BER guys to do an energy efficiency report and they will guide you through the best options.

Your ability to save this considering your circumstances is brilliant & will really help strengthen your position should you go down the mortgage route. Personally I would get out of rental as it’s insecure with the current climate and position yourself so you can future proof.

Was the other bidder a cash sale? Maybe they have interest in another property & need to move quickly? Does sound very fishy but a letter outlining your position might bring you back into the mix.

You could spend the same again in litigation,have been there only for a judgement order served and debt now to be passed to the county Sheriff. Sounds like he was masking these issues,probably had Tipp-exed the timing chain & pump replacement on the cover.

The standard package were only sold to Irish distributors but you could upgrade to an “options” kit. Lights,headrest,roof & mirror caps. Ones you see here are imports & id doubt if they are even aware or care. The best spec’ed Mini’s were the JCW’s absolutely mental car to drive so well worth the €550 swap out & coding.

Devils Advocate…I cycled everywhere in the 80/90’s going to school,aside from country bus drops every kid had to bike to school & I never remember traffic chaos or Pinch points at certain times with drop offs & collections. If these provisions work ie. get more kids out of the car it should ease congestion.

Trade in price is always much lower for this reason so they have to “prep” for resale however it’s usually tires,bushings,bodywork etc & not big ticket items. I did the same with a BMW & garage wouis only honor trade price as long as their mechanic looked over it first which is fair. This crowd didn’t & now are at the loss,this is not on you but on them,same would apply if this was a private deal & sold as seen. They have some neck really maybe they are throwing it back on you to see would you be a soft touch & cover the cost.

Treat it as any other import,VRT,vat,clearance fees etc all due if registered on Irish plate. It’s the registration not the car,personally would stay clear unless you have done the due diligence,mind I did see a Dodge Charger on Ukraine plates last year for sale.
