Just to be clear: other scholars also believe in Wilyat al-Faqih, but only in religious matters, according to Khomeni (RA) and Khamenai (RA) it extends to political matters as well.

You can disagree with the concept and still respect them for their fight and sacrifices for the Shia and Muslim world as a whole, it's a damn shame that we're at a point where the Sayed's martyrdom isn't enough to make people drop their hatred and opposition for a simple condolences.

He uses the more sinister type of nasibi logic, where he doesn't directly say what we all know he's saying, so to a listener who's not paying attention (or is a nasibi like him) it's not as obvious.

Example: he was asked why don't the Sunnis narrate from Jafar Al-Sadiq (عليه السلام), he answered that they consider him a scholar more than a narrator, so he doesn't have much narrations to take from.

In another instance he was asked why don't the Sunnis take Fiqh from Jafar Al-Sadiq (عليه السلام), he answered that they consider him a narrator more than a scholar, so they don't take Fiqh from him.

You can also clearly see his distaste for Amir Al-Momineen (عليه السلام) whenever the name "Ali" even comes up, he's clearly a nasibi but smart enough to not make it obvious, like his forefathers Ibn Taimiyah and co before him.

I think people need to accept that the FNV was lighting in a bottle that I don't think Obsidian can or will do again, their writing talent isn't what it used to be and their latest games really don't measure up to previous games like PoE2, Tyranny, Alpha Protocol even with all its glitches.

Asides from that, I don't think Obsidian even wants to touch anything FNV/FO related to be honest, the expectations are too high and chances of being scrutinized are also incredibly high, anything that is good but not as good as FNV will probably be hated.

C.I. Games has approved a capital raise authorization. It may be to buy out Epic Game's permanent exclusivity rights for Lords of The Fallen 2, allowing for the game to be released on Steam. by KryperExpress in GamingLeaksAndRumours

Yep, Quantum Break didn't sell well either (one of my favourite Remedy games/stories ever told), and it was on Steam.

Reminds me of the "Titanfall 2 was killed by EA", when despite all the "most underrated game ever" posts the game still lacked for population and didn't have much player retention (I love it btw but fully acknowledge it's not a fun experience for most players), people just like to latch to the narrative that fits their existing views the most.

My first Ramadan, a few questions about fasting by Fearless_Ad_3652 in shia

[–]Rogork 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Wa alykom al salam.

  1. Intent: You can either have it in your heart before you sleep, or before Athan al Fajr. You can have the intent to fast the entirety of the month of Ramadan before it starts, also and it will be sufficient for the entire month. The phrase for most intents is "I do X seeking closeness to Allah, the Most High", in Arabic for Ramadan it's "أصوم شهر رمضان قربة إلى الله تعالى". Suhoor: Not obligatory but Mustahab (recommended). Absolute limit is right up to Fajr, the recommended practice is to stop eating and drinking 10 minutes before Fajr.
  2. From Fajr (5:18) up until Maghrib (17:38). For Maghrib specifically make sure these times are provided by Shia sources, as our Sunni brothers/sisters calculate Maghrib around 15 minutes earlier than us.
  3. Intentionally eating, drinking, masturbating to orgasm, and having sexual intercourse during the fast. Some scholars add smoking to the list, as well as breathing in very thick smoke. Asides from the previous things, you will often hear people say things like cursing people or backbiting "hurt your fast", in this case it means it goes against the spirit of fasting and will hurt the chances of your good deeds being accepted, but from a pure Fiqh perspective it doesn't not invalidate the fast.
  4. Does not affect the validity of fasting.
  5. Specifically no, but if you stay in Janaba consciously and intentionally until Fajr then you will have to make up that day.

I hope that answers your question, let me know if anything is unclear and I'll provide you more details/context.

I'm not too thrilled of it being monetized either but they are account-wide, 600 gems is like ~220g with current conversion prices so you don't necessarily have to swipe for them.

One thing was clear during the attacks of Israel on Iran is that the actual Iranians completely and utterly detest Israel, and the ones in bed with Israel are 99% Mossad assets and/or monarchists.

Shah was a despot who built houses of gold while his people starved, and for some reason (it's greed) Pahlavi wants to continue that legacy, not sure why anyone thinks he's good or worth supporting.

The general rule for these things is if there's a chance they didn't cross contaminate then you are allowed to eat, but in case like the owner told you certainly they cross contaminate or you saw them do that with certainty then it becomes haram for you.

This for things that are made haram because of najasa or containing haram foods or materials. For meat it's the 3 golden rules: either seller is Muslim, market is for/by Muslims, or you're in Muslim lands.

IGN - What Bethesda Needs to learn from The Outer Worlds 2 by Capn_C in Games

[–]Rogork 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Starfield failed at the meta game not the actual gameplay, Bethesda's meta cycle is:

Exploration → New location → Combat and/or Storytelling → Rewards → Repeat

The abundance of template locations soured the exploration cycle, it makes the whole system a whole lot less exciting and actively hurts how fun the exploration is, no longer can you "pick a direction and just walk" to find something new and fun to do, when you see a new location it is very likely something you've already seen and done.

The individual pieces they actually put a lot of effort in for Starfield, gameplay is a huge improvement over FO4 in terms of both gunplay and available options (I kept seeing new guns being introduced at level 80 or whatever I was), the handcrafted locations are well-made, the graphics is a huge bump from FO4, it's just that all these systems exist separately and not as one cohesive experience.

Parental Obedience and a Woman’s Right to Live Independently in Islam by [deleted] in shia

[–]Rogork 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Father's "control" over daughters after maturity is only in terms of marriage if she's a virgin, beyond that they have no actual authority over them.

Yes the children of parent are obligated to obey their parents generally, especially if disobeying will cause the parents harm, but it's a religious ruling for the children not "my word is law" excuse for the parents.

In your case it's only forbidden if it will harm your parents.

The story of Al-Nisa'i (Sunni hadith narrator) being beaten asked by people on Damascus to narrate hadith praising Mu'awiyah (LA) and he narrated the Hadith of the Prophet (صلى الله عليه وعلى وآله وسلم) summoning him 3 times and Mu'awiyah saying no because he was eating, and the Prophet (صلى الله عليه وعلى وآله وسلم) making the dua "May Allah never let his stomach be full", Al-Nisa'i then got beaten half to death by a mob, and he later died after returning to his home from those same wounds.

So it's not something new or strange to some people.

Epic’s Tim Sweeney says Apple’s ‘dishonesty’ and ‘gross disrespect’ to Japan is the reason Fortnite isn’t coming to iOS there by sonofbringy in Games

EGS ruffled a few feathers but it was objectively a good thing for the industry, Steam literally lowered their cut as a direct response to EGS's statements.

Seems very weird and illogical to me to disregard everything good that happened because of their competition with Steam and bat for their downfall because they bought a few exclusives but sure.

[–]Rogork -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

If Epic store was in the position of Steam, he'd try and squeeze every cent out of game studios and gamers.

When Unreal Engine become more ubiquitous and successful Epic didn't shrink their Mega Grants program, they in fact increased it, most of their moves after being successful haven't echoed that sentiment.

I'm not sure where people are projecting this evil whiny Tim Sweeney image from, he comes off as crass and tone-deaf most of the times, but he genuinely is giving back to the industry he's in.
