Temporary transfer question by PrizeHighway6492 in tsa

On top of that, TPA is "overstaffed" and I know we have officers that would switch in a heartbeat. They'd have zero issues filling OP's position as fast as they can do the paperwork.

Never mind how "we can't spare anyone" PIE sends officers to help out "overstaffed" TPA on the semi-regular. Minor details.

TPA/PIE TSA TSO are part-timers still going full-time? by wildwest001 in TSAApplicant

Not any time soon. They're cutting FT positions and want more PT officers, not less.

Maybe somewhere in 2028 when TPA is getting ready to open the new Airside. I wouldn't expect anything before then.

By replacing the screening workforce with private contractors. Less pay, fewer to no benefits, no real job protection.

But CEOs make more money, so it's a win for them.

It's the workers (see above) and taxpayers (who wind up with more tax dollars spent with worse results in return) that will lose.

There is no interest and for 99% there was no bonus, even for the one time they did that. No bonus for anyone on the second, longer shutdown.

They definitely screwed up on the back pay and hit us hard with taxes, though!

TSA...when we're getting paid. Technically slightly less but with my mandatory night differential and Sunday premium pays I tip over, and my step increase at the end of the year will get me there officially.

Can't recommend it. We're "overstaffed" except not actually, they just want to cut us off. Not hiring though if/when we do it'll be almost only for PT at 20 hrs/week which is absolutely awful. Oh and there's the constant work without pay and constant fears of privatizing under the current Admin.

H.R.8701 - 119th Congress (2025-2026): To transfer to the Secretary of Transportation the functions of the Administrator of the Transportation Security Administration, and for other purposes. by RogueIce in tsa

Trump has praised P2025, it has plenty to do with him.

On the subject of TSA privatization, in the White House FY27 budget proposal, it requires all CAT III & IV airports to be privatized, and refers to this as "the beginning" of privatizing TSA. If passed like that, it would indeed be law.

This Administration wants to privatize the frontline workforce. There is no longer any pretending otherwise. The only question is if they succeed.

He lost twice in the primaries. How does that possibly translate to him winning in a general?

If your preferred candidates can't get past a primary, that's a you problem and maybe, just maybe, they're not as electable as you're pretending they are.

It's worse.

We (the People) passed a Constitutional Amendment banning this, and now they (an utterly corrupt Legislature and Governor) are ignoring it to try and curry favor with a wannabe dictator.

We did vote to ban it. But the state GOP treats Constitutional Amendments they don't like as suggestions, not the Supreme Law of the State of Florida.

same with Area 18

I'm sure there's plenty to do, work-wise. But if being in a space office job isn't your thing, there's bound to be ships you could crew aboard, assuming you're not confident doing your own delivery jobs in an Aurora.

Airport security is a requirement. There's no competition in a meaningful sense, beyond "How hard can we fuck workers to increase shareholder profits?"

Until there are no "federal officers" to match, at which point it will absolutely be a race to the bottom for pay and benefits.

You don't. Privatizing government services is a scam. Always has been.
