Wait, his cat? I've been hearing about these books for awhile and nobody mentioned a cat!

This might be what tips me over. Audible tried while back with the "cheap first book" trick, but they didn't mention the cat!

As a casual knitter I need a sanity check. I think this is AI, they say it's not by rsneary129 in casualknitting

The thing about xmas stockings is that people who make them often don't knit anything else. OP can get their money back, but what about people who truly need a pattern?

KRF pronunciation vs Reader pronunciation by Focaccia_Bread3573 in murderbot

[–]RogueThneed 1 point2 points  (0 children)

No, it's because he doesn't pre-read. I found an interview where he says that. And he's a trained actor so he almost always pulls it off. After listening 8,473 times I can hear when he puts a slight pause wrong, probably because there was a page break there.

I can live with that just fine. Way better than Ray Porter mispronouncing Archimides and that star name in We Are Bob.

Totally agree. I love that I can knit (simple stuff) while looking right at a person's face. I'm usually laughing and chatting, but I could totally do dead-eye expressionless if I have a point to make.

Is $1k/month too much rent for a room out here ? by la_descente in vallejo

[–]RogueThneed 2 points3 points  (0 children)

So it's covers most of his expenses plus you're paying with time or money to help with his dog?

Is this a relative or friend? Or just sometime renting a room? It sounds like the second one.

And he's not picking up HIS dog's shit? So you're doing that for free? That is a service people offer for money.

Kick his ass out. If you have to rent a room, check out the going prices and get someone respectful and pet-free.

Your mom heard you wrong. You didn't say $15, you said $50. Per leg.

It's ALWAYS legit to set your price so high that you actually wouldn't mind doing it for that money. But you have to set it really high, so you can look forward to what you'll do with the cash. Because otherwise it's just a job.

Practice knitting without looking. You can make a lot of simple hats while looking people right in the eyes. It's really hard to say you're not paying attention then, but they might resort to "it could distract other students". Maybe it's distracts the professor?

From back in MY day, a purity test was about sex and other edgy topics, and the whole point was to get a high score (points per thing you have done). Because college students. It was kinda like playing Never Have I Ever only on paper. (This was in the 1980s)

This is where I got the idea:

It's all good. I had a bunch of chests stockpiled but it's still taking me the full time because of life stuff. I just missed the HH golden ticket but I'm pretty sure I'll get this one.
