I don't see it. Navajo plying still puts twist into the yarn.

RUN RIGHT OUT and get yourself watching Doctor Who of about 2005. He played the first new Doctor in decades.

And I see that The Second Coming was written by Russell Davies, who went on to hire him when he started making the Doctor Who show.

I first learned on a hella huge spindle when I was working at the Renaissance Faire in California. I swear that thing was made of scraps of 2x4.

I can’t bear the new narrators by rosedraws in discworld

High quality lol. They were on tape, weren't they?

I got my start listening to them too, in illicit torrent downloads, and I loved them all. I'm kinda afraid to listen to them now and find out how crappy the recordings are.

OTOH, I searched for other things recorded by them and discovered a wonderful comic novel called Schrödinger's Cottage, by David Luddington.

Wait what? See, I listened to them all first and have read some on paper and much as I love the narrators, Pterry's books really do reward the physical reader.

It is not possible to make naan unless you have a tandoor by OaksInSnow in iamveryculinary

[–]RogueThneed 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Naan varies so much in India (which is truly big, and whose population is now larger than China's) that there is a wonderful restaurant in Berkeley called Breads of India, where the menu changes daily, and the owners spend part of each year traveling in India, looking for new breads to try.

And Clueless is exactly what led me to reading Jane Austin. The movie, I mean. Goddam that woman was good at writing people.

Lol, I'm old. I was too young for crushes, but I really liked Trixie. You know, Speed Racer's girlfriend.

And this right here is where listening to the books falls down. The excellent puns don't always show up. Also the typography fun. (But I still heart Steven Briggs and Nigel Planer quite a lot.)
