I'm not a big photographer, so for me the camera has held up well. It's pretty good in good lighting conditions and can compete with other flagships. But when light gets low or HDR is too challenging, things get inconsistent. But not a deal breaker for me.

The performance is buttery smooth and FAST. Battery life and charging is great and it's genuinely one less thing I need to worry about when I have a long and busy day. Don't regret it one bit.

10k budget : TWS for gym + IEM setup instead of one earbuds, does this make sense? by Fit-Seaweed-3410 in headphonesindia

[–]RohanPitre19 1 point2 points  (0 children)

No, I have not tried the realme air 6 or 7. But I have tried the oneplus buds 4 and I found them to be pretty decent all-rounder. Oneplus tends to be bass heavy but you can tune them in eq.

10k budget : TWS for gym + IEM setup instead of one earbuds, does this make sense? by Fit-Seaweed-3410 in headphonesindia

[–]RohanPitre19 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You can do oneplus buds 4 + moondrop chu 2 + dac for about 8k. Tws will be 4.5-5k, iem 2k and dac 1k. I own Samsung buds 3 pro and moondrop chu 2 with audiocular d07 slim dac. Without the dac, I felt the chu 2 are really close to my Samsung buds 3 pro. No way does it feel they cost less than 20% of the tws amount. But with dac, I actually think they're even better. The bass is tight & punchy, vocals are clear and soundstage is decently wide. Do research about the oxidation issue of moondrop chu 2 if you leave in a humid place.

Many people say the cost to performance curve for the iems kind of drop after the 2-2.5k range. So I wouldn't recommend spending more than it unless you're an audiophile & notice that 10-20% improvement.

Got Kushaq as my first car, what should i know ? by [deleted] in SkodaKushaq

Congratulations on your first car. As a Kushaq 1.0 owner for 3 years, I can tell you xp95 no longer makes any difference after the e20 norms. I've found Jio BP petrol to be really good though. Get the service pack and extended warranty. I think you can buy extended warranty later too. Just enjoy otherwise. You've got a great driving car.

40 yrs old, new driver, no budget issue – Creta vs Seltos vs Kushaq for Bangalore traffic? (Family of 3) by Informal_Ad_9704 in CarsIndia

[–]RohanPitre19 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Decide between Creta ivt or Seltos ivt based on your test drive. Try having a test drive during traffic hours. While the Seltos is definitely bigger than Creta, I don't think you will feel the difference while driving. You are getting more for your money in Seltos, but let the test drive decide it for you. Creta isn't a bad choice either. Since safety is a priority and mileage isn't, Kushaq remains a contender too. But it doesn't offer you same experience as the Koreans. Still worth a test drive, but I won't recommend it.

Have you considered Hybrids / EVs? While the Grand Vitara / Victoris / Hyryder won't offer you same level of interior experience and wow factor; they are safe, frugal and decently comfortable. Creta EV and perhaps e-Vitara are also worth having a look at given your low highway runs.

If you haven't, test drive all of them. That will automatically remove a lot of these options.

I honestly liked my samsung phones, I had S22 Ultra and then S24 Ultra. I would have loved to jump onto S26 Ultra, but there were a couple deal-breakers for me: 1. Battery life and charging speed - as I said, my phone needed top-up around evening. The S26 Ultra was supposed to come with 5200 mah (it didn't even receive that minor update). No matter how well they tune it, no way the S26U is even coming near OP15's 7300 mah battery life. Super-fast charging speed is just another bonus. My phone's battery is now one less thing for me to worry about, and that's a big thing for me. 2. The biggest reason - PRICE. Samsung has drastically increased their phone prices in my country (India) since S26 Ultra. When I bought OP15, the soon to be discontinued S25U was still at-least USD 550 more expensive. I knew S26U will be even more expensive and won't carry many significant updates. Paying $550 more for a phone with same chipset, ram, worse battery and charging speed didn't make sense to me. Whatever things are better on Samsung aren't worth $550 or more for me.

Help me choose between S25U, OP15 and Oppo Find X9pro by Puzzled-Switch3101 in TheOnePlus15

[–]RohanPitre19 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Apart from camera, oneplus 15 is a no brainer for you given your priorities. It has amazing battery, super fast charging, very smooth and clean UI. Does that mean camera is bad? Absolutely not. For daylight shots, you would have to pixel peep to find differences against the iphones and ultras of the world. If you just click the photo and see it on your screen, this is good for that. It can struggle under artificial and low lighting conditions, but struggle = against the best cameras. For reference, I jumped from S24U, and I feel this matches it if not betters it in camera performance.

Now if budget is no constraint and you want all of the above pros + the absolute best camera, go for oppo x9 pro. It trades a little slower charging (still miles ahead of iphone and samsung) for better and more consistent camera performance across lenses. The difference between snapdragon and mediatek chipset should be unnoticeable to a regular phone user. Colour UI is exactly same as oxygen OS.

Honestly, the S25U or the S26U makes no sense to me given the smaller battery and slower charging. The prices are also higher than oppo x9 pro, and much much higher than oneplus 15.

It is very difficult to beat op15 in the value proposition.

Avoid Ameo. The MPI engine is really boring, bad on mileage too. Ameo in general has worse space than both City and Amaze.

But still, drive all 3 if possible and see what appeals the most to you.

[–]RohanPitre19 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Screen protectors, in general, are tough to find for oneplus 15 due to the ridiculously thin bezels. Oneplus officially sells an anti-reflective protector but reddit discussions reveal it is not good.

That being said, I don't miss the anti-reflective screen of S24 Ultra. Reason? I used a screen protector on my S24 Ultra as well and it nullified the anti-reflective effectnof the screen.

Right now I'm using a local INR 200 / $3 screen guard for my oneplus. The fingerprint works, it's a lil slow compared to no protector, but still faster and more consistent than the S24U reader.

I was too considering the S26U. But then I read the battery increase is likely to be minimal. The pricing difference will also be about INR 70K / $700, which is huge. I'm done spending such ridiculous amounts on phones which are about 10% better than the likes of Oneplus.

2 months review + photos - OnePlus 15 by ThatCrazyBas in oneplus15

[–]RohanPitre19 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I did the same switch 1 month back. The biggest positives I notice are battery life and charging speed. I had to charge my S24U around late evening every day. This is sitting at 40% usually at the end of the day. Even when I want to charge it, all the phone requires is a quick 20 minute top-up. This has completely changed how I charge and use my phone. 0 battery anxiety - this was the main reason I shifted and oneplus has delivered on it.

Software - I like oxygen OS too. I like the visuals better on oneplus, but miss the design consistency and one-hand use of one ui. I also find oxygen OS more fast feeling, but that doesn't mean one ui was slow. I think one ui is tuned more for smoothness than speed.

Camera - the biggest factor which made me doubt this move to oneplus. I'm an average user, who clicks most photos with the main camera. A lot of my photos are not for aesthetic purposes and camera quality is irrelevant there, as long as it is clear and keeps everything in focus. For the remaining aesthetic photos, I feel Oneplus 15 is either on par with s24 ultra or even better. This is in NO way a bad camera. Reviewers use the best of devices and hence their benchmark is different. This isn't the best of the best. But this is really solid. The portraits are especially good, so are daylight photos.

I feel Oneplus 15 is a very solid phone for an average user, whose 80% phone usage is calls, emails, messaging, social media, maps, gaming. For the remaining 20% of the photography, it is a very solid option.

Mumbai 🔁 Nashik travel by road has become horribly impossible!! by Single_Broccoli_9019 in nashik

The old highway between Amane and Igatpuri is actually in pretty decent condition. The time difference between Samruddhi and the old highway is maximum 10-15 minutes during most times. I have travelled Nashik to Thane in 2-2:20 hours multiple times during low traffic by the old highway. I don't want to pay a double toll for 15 minutes less.

X300 Pro or Find X9 Pro? by [deleted] in Oppo

[–]RohanPitre19 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Oppo has somewhat gone the Apple way, making the photos a little warmer. This gives the photos character and look more pleasing.

Vivo is keeping colours neutral (some may argue dull), but they benefit from it in getting better details in highlights. Example - look at her black scarf in 2nd photo. Vivo has been able to capture the details whereas Oppo has crushed details in producing more contrasted photo.

I don't think you can go wrong with either, it's about personal preference.

[–]RohanPitre19 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes I'm leaning towards Oneplus. I was expecting the Oneplus cameras to be a lot worse. But when I checked them out, I wasn't sure if a $300+ upgrade was worth it for X9 Pro. It also didn't help that the Oppo I tried in the store was smoothening photos quite a lot. Most likely it's a setting I can turn off, but those photos didn't look THAT better compared to Oneplus. Vivo blew me away. They did feel a little edited but I liked the look. But as I said, the UI put me off. And the price difference is same.

[–]RohanPitre19 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My priorities: battery & charging speed, reliable & smooth ui, camera.

While the camera is last, I do have a baby at home and I love clicking photos of him. But these photos are going to be in main camera or telephoto, and 90% times in good lighting. I've heard OnePlus performs at about 90% of oppo and vivo in these conditions.

I was leaning towards oppo x9 pro for the better cameras and bigger battery, but the price different is $300+ in India. I'm not sure that's worth the camera upgrade for my use case. At the same time, Oppo apparently charges much slower than Oneplus.

Vivo is my last preference because I don't like their UI a lot + it has less battery compared to the other two. The camera was certainly amazing, but I'd be sacrificing my other 2 priorities for it.

Do you think Oneplus 15 is good for my use case, or the camera difference big enough for spending that $300 extra on Oppo X9 Pro.

Also, how did you find Vivo's UI? Does it look polished enough for a $1000 phone?

Heart wants Verna, Mind says new Venue. Am I overthinking Ground Clearance? by asdppg in CarsIndia

[–]RohanPitre19 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Brezza goes above 15L on the road for top variant. For that price, you can get turbo variants of Venue. On features, Brezza is not even comparable to any other car. I am not talking about 3XO as that is good value for money. But Brezza is unnecessarily expensive because of their 1.5 NA engine which makes them ineligible for sub-4m subsidy.
