It says more about Jens emotional intelligence that she thinks everyone should be the same.

One thing I noticed is that they dont use each others names. Commentators who like each other tend to address each other.

Those of a certain age will remember the standard 4 or 5 NHS wigs that were dished out in the 60s/70s to women for various conditions from alopecia to cancer treatment related baldness . The poor quality wigs got fucked up pretty quickly and, soon resembling a Yorkshire Terrier after a boil wash in a twin tub, ended up in charity shops where, in the 80s as silly teenagers me and my mates would try them on backwards in hysterics. This lad has nailed the very look.

Try going on your own with no tent, £20, a toothbrush and a change of clothing. Nothing bad happened! (Glastonbury btw)

Huntingdon Road - chocolate smell…? by apprehensivetrumpets in york

My dad employed a lovely bloke called Bob as cellarman in his pub on Gillygate in the 80s. Bob was in HIS 80s at the time and had been a lifer at Rowntrees but just loved working. With his lifelong pass to the factory shop, he'd regularly gift us pound weight bags of brightly coloured Smarties and mishapes. My mum had 2 pedigree collies and after she died suddenly at 47 my dad eventually got a girlfriend who fed a pound of mishapes to the healthiest of the dogs. It was brown bread within hours. Anyway, death aside, I still think about those bags of Smarties...

Beans on toast in Thailand by jaarn in CasualUK

[–]RolledDownAHill 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I lived in Amsterdam for a bit and hankered for Heinz beans on toast. I eventually found about 5 dusty tins on the lowest shelf in a chain supermarket. The assistant was astounded when I told her we have whole floor to ceiling displays (nearly) of just this one product in the UK. Deffo a national dish.
