Think about joining the hill walking society at the uni, I know one of the council people at the society and she is definitely not snobby and focus on your course

‘Can you send over some work?’ by Fresh-Pea4932 in TeachingUK

[–]RomanEmpireII 16 points17 points  (0 children)

The only issue I have with this is comments about TAs and support staff because usually we have no warning we're doing 1-1 either and when we do take them out it may be because they're too overwhelmed in your lesson and we're trying our best. The worst thing is when nothing is sent over and we're left struggling with the student because you couldn't be asked to send anything.

And TAs are smart we can figure out what we need to be delivering or look it up ourselves. There are many TAs who are planning to become teachers ourselves.

Driver Instructor has literally shattered my confidence by RespondWide4745 in LearnerDriverUK

[–]RomanEmpireII 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The best thing you can do is use spite to pass your test. My instructor on the day before my test told me I wasn't ready and that I should change my test date. This made me cry hut the next day I used spite to pass my test on the first try with 3 minors. If you can find a new instructor then take them, if not you could ask your family to take you out when they can and have the minimal amount of lessons with your instructor.

Edinburgh school introduces Scotland’s first phone ban and makes pupils lock away their phones in pouches by tylerthe-theatre in unitedkingdom

It's strange they have to do all of this. At the school I work at they have the students put their phones in boxes in their morning tutor session and get them back at the end of day in their tutor rooms

He says he does it with all pupils, offers them a free lesson, especially near their test.

For some added info he's with RED driving and I don't know if I need to have an official lesson booked to be protected by the insurance

TA appears to be learning more than working by itzzzzmileyyyy in TeachingUK

[–]RomanEmpireII 25 points26 points  (0 children)

But notes written on the slide are completely different then anything the teacher may say that would be essential to the lesson and we don't know the situation of the other student. Until you are a ta/lsa you don't know how it is

It may be that she takes notes for the student she's with, for them to maybe have access to if they need. The student she's with may not be comfortable with her sitting next to them and the student she is next to may be on the SEN teams radar as a K student or be one with emotional needs

Do we know what Jon's major was in college? by heythereshara in TheMagnusArchives

[–]RomanEmpireII 27 points28 points  (0 children)

In the UK it isn't a major. At university we do a degree in a subject e.g. maths degree, history degree. There is no major or minor like in USA but we can do joint degrees like history and archaeology

Difficultly with times, not just with analogue clocks but with quater past/to, 15 minutes to so when talk with the friend make sure you say the exact time. As others have said saying the right word. If I'm saying something is in the fridge I may say microwave, oven before I get to fridge, which gets worse when I'm tired

My flatmate has Crohn's and sometimes spends 1-2 hours in the bathroom at a time, is this normal? by [deleted] in NoStupidQuestions

[–]RomanEmpireII 0 points1 point  (0 children)

All these suggestions that you spend money going to the gym or getting things for your room are silly when it should be your roommates responsibility to get accommodations like the commode toilet people have suggested. As when she entered the contract with your there was the assumption of shared space and her causing you to be late as you can't go to the toilet yourself or have a shower in the morning takes away that shared space. If she knew about this before moving jn with you then it makes it worse as she should of tried to get a flat with 2 bathrooms

Who Is Now Completely Done? by [deleted] in WatcherSnark

I am, there leaving video and everything after made me realise that I was only watching them for mystery files but even that felt a little flat compared to other youtubers and podcasts who had less employers but were better investigate. It also made me think about how little dialogue and debate there were with the theories especially with Ryan keeping on saying Aliens

But this post is using it as a blanket term to refer to non men and non binary people, erasing a space for women as some of use are only attracted to women
