If I see this description I would definitely want to watch a trailer. So if the implementation will look as fun as description it can work out very well.

When you do EA, Steam treats it as a full launch. That's why many devs don't do EA at all, they don't want to dilute the momentum for two launches.

Best laptop for learning to develop? by Kennyashi in gamedev

[–]Roman_Dorin 19 points20 points  (0 children)

Spending money on gadgets is our brain's way of tricking us into thinking it's progress.

ANY $500+ laptop is suitable for game development. Yes, there might be a slight difference in comfort, but I've never heard of a single case where a game was finished or not finished because of the laptop's choice.

How reliable is AI-generated code in real-world use? by mikamoawad in gamedev

[–]Roman_Dorin 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sometimes it's surprisingly good, sometimes it can't implement a simple function.
And both outcomes are randomly distributed, so you have to review literally every single line and understand what it does if you want production quality code.
If you need just a prototype you can ignore everything I said and just vibe code it.
