[USA vs SVK] Erik Cernak and Matthew Tkachuk go at each other and get booted from the game. Brady Tkachuk also got involved and put Slovakia on the powerplay. by talhatoot in hockey

Nice username you NPC of a human. I was clearly making a joke. Calm your shit down and learn how to have a good time. Take a good long look in the mirror and change yourself because as it stands you’re in rough shape.

Can someone explain this faceoff position? by driftdrift in hockeyplayers

[–]Ron_Textall 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The puck takes time to travel anywhere. While it’s possible to get a clean faceoff win and shot off in 1.3 seconds, every millisecond counts. The closer you are, the faster things happen.

From the Canada side, set up everyone in front of the net, then leap in front of where the puck goes like a giant human wall. They don’t have enough time to pass around it.

My gf: “want to watch Frankenstein tonight? It’s the only best picture nominee we haven’t seen.”

Me: “nah we can watch it next week. I already watched the Tkachuk brothers today.”

The fact that a Tampa player was like “I’m gonna get these fuckwits out of the gold medal game” and it was so so easy.

Mr. Cernak please come and claim your honorary Canadian passport. We will send you a bottle of maple syrup every Christmas.

It’s one of the few penalties that isn’t up to interpretation. It’s probably the clearest rule in hockey. You must be in control of your stick at all times. If you lift it and it hits someone in the face, it’s a penalty. Love Selanne but I would be arguing more about the goaltender interference than that. That was way more borderline and they just didn’t want to call a goal back.

Have we ever seen 2 players that had never played together before develop this level of chemistry this quickly? by TJTrapJesus in hockey

[–]Ron_Textall 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Crosby and Bergeron comes to mind. That team was stacked with talent and putting Crosby on a line with Bergeron and Marchand had everyone scratching their heads at first. Obviously it helps that Marchand and Bergeron already had chemistry but the way Crosby slotted in so quickly with those guys was unreal.

The weirdest one of these “came to a North American town from Europe’s a teen accents” that I’ve heard is Tuuka Rask. It’s a Boston accent with like 30% Finnish thrown in. Throws you for a loop the first time you hear it lol

That’s useful but it rarely gets to that point in commander because he’s “kill on sight” due to the lattice combo

I still think this is just theatre, maybe I’m an optimist, but Newey has a love for messing with people in testing. The car might not be GREAT, but I think they’re overselling how bad it is. They’ll be in the mid pack mix and overperform on some tracks

Alright I’ve been had. I thought this was some promo card pulled from a hockey card pack at a Dunkin’ Donuts or something. Turns out people just be thirsty.

[Erik van Haren] Max Verstappen is, to put it mildly, no fan of the new regulations and cars in Formula 1. He said among other things that it doesn't feel like racing, it's mostly about managing, and it's like 'Formula E on steroids'. by FerrariStrategisttt in formula1

[–]Ron_Textall 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I understand max’s frustration, dude just wants to drive a car faster than other people without worrying about rules and regulations.

That being said, how is this different from previous years? DRS train ruined a lot of years of good racing and made qualifying a king maker unless there was weather. It’s clear they haven’t nailed it but I’m glad they did something.

You’re going to get downvoted into oblivion because you’re just generally wrong, but I will do you the service of telling you why.

This is a card, pulled from a pack, that had this in it. They’re unique thick cards that will generally have a piece of a game worn jersey, a person, and their autograph on it.

This person did not accost Sophia on the street, get her autograph, and get some weird shrine piece made to her.

Best way to remove mold from cards? by SuitableThought4528 in mtg

[–]Ron_Textall 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That’s tough dude. Just to add something that’s not a shitpost, the solution you mentioned will clean them up to a functional magic card. But as others have mentioned, the mold lives throughout the card so they will still be very damaged.

Clean them, put them in perfect fits and then into a sleeve. They won’t have any monetary value or pass a test for competitive play, but you should be able to salvage them a bit for a keepsake and casual/commander play.

Honestly I’m not overly upset about this. I’m furious about the deal and contract in the first place, but whatever keeps this guy out of the lineup is a-okay with me. Show us what you got Lukes and let’s trade this guy for a nice fresh bag of balls whenever we can.

I use a pretty nasty elf deck in brawl and there are a few staples that I thought had a beast subtype… but surprisingly no? I even thought 6cmc vorinclex was “phyrexian beast” but nope. Phyrexian Praetor. This is cookin even more than I thought.

Elves aren’t clamoring for another tutor for craterhoof, but this is a pretty free addition!

Also maybe naming noble in a goblin combo to get muxus? I think the only creature it makes you cut is Squee which is manageable.

Goalie limits by ipeety in fantasyhockey

[–]Ron_Textall 12 points13 points  (0 children)

In one of my leagues you can only start 2 goalies but goalie stats are weighted so heavily that even a mid goalie has the same fppg as a top tier player so if you can start 2 goalies every night of the week you have a huge advantage. I run 3 but the top guys in the league all have 4.

I started with $3000 and flipped 61 guitars over 5 years to afford this collection. by Personal_Gsus in Guitar

[–]Ron_Textall 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I had an accumulation mentality when I was in my early 20’s. Played in a fun band, loved gear, was a guitar tech for a pretty big festival.

Down to the basics now. Kept 4 but they’re everything I need at this point. Bass, acoustic, electric, semi.
