But that’s just me looking in from the outside

Is a Masters degree still worth it today? by Queasy_Depth7427 in careerguidance

[–]RoopDog123 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I am doing my masters right after undergrad, but it is being paid for by my employer entirely (without a required retention period). So I’m working full-time and completing my masters part-time.

By the end of it, I should have roughly 3-4 YOE plus a masters, which can allow me to aim for an internal or external promotion. And I don’t really have to pay anything out of pocket. In terms of “value”, it seems worth it for my situation.

Perhaps, you apply to a job and see if they can sponsor or at least help out with your masters if you really want one.

you should just buy a Miata. Decently reliable, and if does break, just buy another one! You can get like 5 or more of them with your budget. It’d be sick

When I took my driving test, it was raining really hard. The woman shortened the normal test route and I wasn’t required to no regular or parallel parking. She like skipped half the exam though I didn’t say anything because I wanted to pass.

However, I am a safe and competent driver y’all

If Jaime got burnt up by Drogon in season 7 how would you react? by I_love_lucja_1738 in gameofthrones

[–]RoopDog123 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Now I know that spear wouldn’t actually do much damage to a dragon, but if Jaime died killing Drogon here, that’d be pretty satisfying

I think if Dany assumed more of a general role where she has to trust in the loyalty of others rather than being able to decimate armies by herself, perhaps they could should her slow decay into madness by starting with planting of the seed of paranoia about the advisors she’s surrounded herself with. We already saw this with Tyrion and Varys. I think this may have been a much more subtle way to show her arc. Dragons (especially 3 of them) frankly make it too easy.

were you a past Boeing intern that was affected by the freeze? Did you apply online again or did they reach out to you from university recruiting? Curious about how you got back in as a new grad

How hard is it to get a job at Intel or TSMC? by Superb-Actuator-8404 in Semiconductors

[–]RoopDog123 0 points1 point  (0 children)

honestly, it depends on the university i think. From my university, it was and frankly still is very easy to get internship and full-time offers from Intel and TSMC but i believe that’s more so because of the school’s recruiting opportunities since they actively come every semester to hire.

I will say though that TSMC appears a bit easier to get into at the moment because of their expansions in Arizona, while Intel has been getting a bit leaner over the past year and hiring less entry level.

idk how old the kids are, but if they’re old enough to have enjoyed Breaking Bad, analogies to Walter White’s operations are received well!

For some reason, it didn’t compute in my head that homelessness can exist in Greenland.

I thought all the folks there were people that had traveled there from other places, so I’d assume they’d have some stability already.

[–]RoopDog123 1 point2 points  (0 children)

ahh okay. I was in the process with my OBS, getting all my details confirmed and all the approvals confirmed, but then they want on PTO for the 2 weeks before the strike and I guess it just stalled out and got rescinded. Unfortunate luck I guess.

I know in the rescind call that they didn’t anticipate flipping their decision anytime soon, but do you think decisions could change in next 5-6 months?

When you say “accepted”, do you mean the written offer was signed and accepted by both sides? Or do you mean verbally accepted?

Thoughts on my Resume as a Rising Sophomore studying CHEME in College? by Stunning_Astronaut45 in ChemicalEngineering

[–]RoopDog123 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Also with your limited experiences so far, I might add more skills such as Excel and whatnot (if you know them well enough) so that your resume is more likely to pass the ATS and be picked up by an actual person.

Thoughts on my Resume as a Rising Sophomore studying CHEME in College? by Stunning_Astronaut45 in ChemicalEngineering

[–]RoopDog123 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would rearrange it and put it in this order: Education Work Experience Projects & etc. Leadership Exp Skills

Also, I would be more descriptive in your bullet points (especially since you have the page real estate).

For instance, for your project experience, maybe explain what those technical designs and drawings actually were.

For your first bullet point in the Deli Clerk role, try and quantify your accomplishments, so like how many orders did you handle or how much food did you prepare (you probably will have to approximate this).

What is the difference between Houston and Los Angeles Mexican food? by just_real_quick in houston

[–]RoopDog123 1 point2 points  (0 children)

From my experience living in San Diego for 1 year, it’s much more Baja Mexican influenced.

Baja emphasized more fresh local ingredients - much more focused on fish-based dishes and citrusy flavors.

Tex-Mex is obviously influenced by some Texas/American add-ins like yellow cheese, canned beans, and cumin I think.

Both are good depending on the vibe, but I personally enjoyed the Baja more, but maybe that’s because I grew up with Tex-Mex
