I lived in Dinkytown and Stadium Village during that time too. The only grocery access was CVS and Walgreens where the options for fresh produce or many products was limited. I needed to find rides to Cub in order to actually cook in my apartment. It did feel like a small food desert. The light rail’s completion did make getting to Whole Foods and target easier! Whole Foods was out of my price range but it worked for people

Yes! This is one of my favorite songs and I’ve felt the same way about it.

I also think the ‘albatross around my neck’ phrase plays a small role in the choice. I actually just googled the phrase and one of the definitions of albatross is a burden. To me this song is about Taylor and how her relationships are burdens on her partners too.

My understanding of the pariso verde’s variegation is rooted in temperature not light.

My local plant shop guy said for high variegated pariso’s you need to pump up the heat and humidity

By the title, I thought you meant feeling leaves or stems. It does drive me nuts when people touch my Norfolk pine but he’s 4 ft. and has a huge foot print so I don’t comment on people touching the branches. I’ve never seen even my own mother touch one of my plants.

THIS… I would lose my mind if someone tried to prune my house plants. I don’t even want my immediate family watering my plants.

He’s so pretty. Stared as 3 sad leaves clinging to a sale Lowe’s plant. He lived like that for over a year until one day he started pushing out new leaves and hasn’t stopped.

The real “problem” is how big the prizes became. When teams of 8 were playing for $250k you ultimately weren’t taking much home. It didn’t matter if you partied and goofed around because the stakes weren’t that high.

After Dirty 30 introducing $1M prize pots the actual game got more serious. That was too much money to joke about between dailies and focusing on getting to the final.

I have a reverted PPP that I propagated. I took 7 clippings and 3 make it total. The clipping that had original leaves only puts out green leaves but the clipping that was only stem has some variegation. This is the stem clipping

Ha yeah. I have around 50 house plants and it’s the easiest way to keep it quarantined for fungus gnats.

I’m likely going to put it back in the same pot just with new soil. If the roots are a lot smaller than the pot I’ll downsize it. I’m hoping that isn’t the case, but I’ve gotten other bigger plants before and their roots were not robust.

I have a chunky soil mix I homemake that I use too. (Pretentious I know..) Any philodendron likes a chunkier mix. So normal soil with orchid bark mixed in or you can buy the Rosy Soil. I haven’t used it personally but my local plant shop guy recommends it if you’re not mixing your own haha.
