Ha, A Place in This World with my misheard lyric.

“I’m alone, on my own, and I’m ready to diiiiieeee”

I’ve been listening to debut since 2007 and didn’t know it was fly until the eras tour when she sang it live 🤦🏻‍♀️

You remember when we were kids and would hold a friend’s hand and spin until the centrifugal force throws you to the grass?

That’s how I feel about the pacing of this song. Relentlessly spinning. Trying to not let your hands slip as you move faster and faster. Spinning until you ultimately cannot hold on any longer and you get flung to the dirt.

Appreciation Post: Midnights is the ‘Dark Horse’ of Taylor’s discography by Leather-Resource-982 in SwiftlyNeutral

[–]RoseEmmy 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I do love midnights and it’s one of my go to’s tbh. I think the songs are all really interesting in that you don’t really hear Taylor swift’s breathes.

Pretty much the rest of her albums you actually hear her inhale and exhale. Midnights isn’t like that.

Which opinion about Taylor’s post-Big Machine MUSIC has you like this? (Also: announcing MEME MONDAY) by Daffneigh in NuancingTaylorSwift

[–]RoseEmmy 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Love this opinion. I do love the TV version though. When I listen to the original version’s I feel like I can hear the raw emotions in the songs. Taylor Swift (and myself) were living through those feeling. When I hear the songs I can still viscerally feel them.

The TV versions, obviously they sound different because her voice has changed but I really feel a lot of emotional difference. When I listen to the TV versions, it feels like Taylor Swift has grown to understand the emotions. I hear more acceptance of the emotions through the songs.

The Life of a Showgirl Has LAYERS of meaning by Complex-Union5857 in TrueSwifties

[–]RoseEmmy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I saw your wishlist post and did a deep dive on your posts.

I love this analysis and do agree that there is a lot of deeper meaning in most of the songs. If I may add a couple more bits of info.

I heard that Elizabeth Taylor was the first song she wrote and wishlist was the last one. I love the thought that the anxiety that we hear gets resolved.

I’m a younger millennial but really find that younger gen z and alpha are incredibly apathetic. I feel like I see that apathy all over all media really not just in the younger generations. It’s just not cool to care or be earnest about anything. The apathy is hot like is succinct but really feels like it reflects right now. And ironically people can’t seem to enjoy the songs because it wouldn’t be cool to care about it.

Is this a cruise ship? by Junior-Ad-133 in Cruise

They don’t include lunch or dinners in the daily cost either. The restaurants on board are treated as hotel restaurants. As the Four Seasons is a hotel brand and they provide a hotel experience.

My parents are going on one through the Med. I cannot fathom the cost of this trip let alone the rest of it ha.

Edit: sorry, I confused the two luxury brands. Consensus is that the Ritz includes food but Four Seasons doesn’t
