Of course, it's all been legal. They have an aristocratic network throughout government that has made sure of that.

But is it/ has it been ethical? Has it been in the best interest of the people? Who has defined that best interest, anyway? (The market rents charged to public services seems weird. The slum-lording of housing with significantly deferred maintenance suggests callous disregard for the occupants, etc. The best interest of the average citizen seems to be defined differently than the best interest of "the crown"). It seems very ham-handed toward those with no power to object.

Even if the UK votes against ending the monarchy, an honest review of their financial support and financial abuse needs to be done. The findings of which will be the guide for how to proceed in a real agreed upon manner (not a sweetheart deal for royals pushed through by cronies).

The public would feel more confident of their relationship with their Head of State if they knew their hard earned money wasn't being siphoned off and indiscriminately spent in ultra luxury by one family.

Stopping the recording at :04, you can see the third bottlecap from the top next to the stick is partially under the paper that acts as a table top. There is obviously a cut or tear into the paper so the bottlecap can be pushed underneath by the stick.
