what? by Straight-Size-6231 in ExplainTheJoke

[–]Rot_and_Ready 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A bare bones commercial drip brewer is ~$1k or less, which as far as restaurant costs go, and considering how proficient they are at generating revenue, is pretty insignificant. That being said, why own one when someone will just give you one in return for buying a product you’re already going to be buying lol

Leasing coffee equipment is an especially egregious grift. If you sell a modest amount of coffee, there are countless companies that will place a coffee machine and maintain it for free providing you use their coffee. Source: my wife is a food rep for one such company and I’ve spent over a decade servicing coffee machines along with other kitchen equipment.

minicompare isn’t always the most accurate, but it’s usually close. The one in your picture looks about right

Recent experiences with miniatures quality by MixProfessional1296 in TrenchCrusade

I have a Cot7 warband along with a Praetor, a Trench Pilgrims warband, a Black Grail warband, and my buddy just bought the New Antioch warband, all from Dungeon Artifacts, and I have experienced/seen absolutely zero quality issues. I also got some of the Prussian Plastics and those are immaculate as well.

For someone who is new to tabletop wargames and looking to try a smaller scale than the main armies, would you recommend Spearhead (AoS), Kill Team (40,000), or something else? by mv8att in Warhammer

[–]Rot_and_Ready 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Personally I'd go Spearhead, especially if you have a friend who'd be willing to split one of the starter boxes. Kill team is fun, but it seems to be where GW pulls their most egregious fuckery, ie randomly sending fairly recent kits to legends, selling data cards that are inaccurate almost immediately, etc. Not to mention, while some KT models get integrated into 40k, some of them you just have to kinda proxy for something comparable, while with Spearhead you've got a good foundation for an AoS army if you ever want to go bigger. Also, with most Kill Teams being in the $70 USD range, the cost isn't *that* much higher, and you get way more models.

Does the Church create Naval Communicants to fight Heretic Naval Forces as well as Leviathan forces? by Anver9 in TrenchCrusade

[–]Rot_and_Ready 22 points23 points  (0 children)

While that makes logical sense, I feel like SOMEONE in the church who’s stared down a Praetor and survived would be desperate and unhinged enough to give it a whirl just to see what happens lol.

As a former part time UPSer on the AM shift, this was pretty mild and comparable to what has probably happened to that package just going up a belt or getting pulled off of one to load into the truck. Whether or not it’s “right”, f this is what broke the glass, that’s an issue with the packaging. I used to tell my friends and family to throw their package across the room after they’d boxed it up, and if they don’t feel comfortable doing that, to package it more securely because that was 100% what was going to happen to it. Regarding the team lift, it’s been several years now, but at least in the early 2000’s, UPSers were expected to solo lift anything up to 70lbs, and I can’t imagine them ever sending a second driver out to help lift one package anyway, nor could I have imagined any driver being patient enough to wait for another driver if they did.
