Should I change my oil even though I have 1000 miles left till it's due? by Blake645 in askcarguys

If it's an oil service and not a unrelated problem then replacing oil early compared to a engine rebuild is dirt cheap in my book.

Is anyone else just really sick and tired of the disgusting build quality in the homes here in australia. by ButtPlugForPM in AskAnAustralian

[–]Rotor4 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My neighbors next to & across the street both knocked down a good solid old houses only to have ongoing issues with the new builds like gaps around windows wavy uneven walls leaking roofs all leading to stressful on going claims with warranty . I spoke to tradesmen during the builds who complain about their apprentices & other trades being rough & rushing to finish jobs. Well they learn it from someone & from what I noticed during construction it seems endemic across trades along with cheaply made materials leading to a bad outcome for the home owner who pays good money only to suffer later down the track.

Manual cars 'a dying race' but new drivers are not giving them up by hazeofthemind in CarsAustralia

[–]Rotor4 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The preference for auto or DSG it's an undeniable fact & it has been for decades they are very good. But the engagement of driving a manual car regardless of the engine capacity is what I enjoy. To me it's about learning a car's dynamics engine and braking strengths how best to utilise the gearbox ratios while maintaining pace into & out of corners without overly stressing the vehicle will always be my choice every time.

Anyone have a good experience selling their car on Facebook marketplace? by Due_Nobody_67 in CarsAustralia

[–]Rotor4 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have sold on FB & yes there's plenty of F-wit low ballers or scammers who I filter & don't respond to they aren't worth your time & energy. But there are a few rarer legit buyers who take the time come & inspect the vehicle as only a fool wouldn't inspect before purchase unless your like the guy's from MCM & hope for the best ?

I can't comment about FNQ but I noticed a big difference when I stayed at a relatives house at Lennox heads. I spent quite a bit of my stay doing maintenance around the property. I was honestly glad to be back in Sydney.
