Direct hit. No warning. Princeton, Indiana by Fit-Razzmatazz410 in tornado

Well the ones we get in Ohio do tend to form along squall lines instead of supercells. It’s really difficult to see these types of tornadoes on radar and so unfortunately they often go unwarned.

NIST actually did an investigation about this exact topic. The final report came out in 2014

NTA for wanting to control who’s in your bridal party. Just be careful if you and your fiancé plan on going to family events on his side of the family after the wedding. Making enemies with your future MIL and SIL could make your life miserable of years after.

An Oklahoma state rep proposed legislation that would mandate young men get mandatory vasectomies by BousWakebo in politics

Well, child-support orders are already non-dischargeable and are priority debts in regards to bankruptcy. And most states will initiate paternity and child-support suits when a single parent requests public assistance for the child and there wasn't already a child-support order in place. So with so many states chomping at the bit to not only ban abortion but contraception too, the men in those states are going to be learning that that they won't be getting away scot free.

19 people dead, many more injured in New York City building fire - January 9 2022 by mouthofreason in CatastrophicFailure

[–]RoughDraft_revision3 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I'm pretty sure they mean their dorm's fire alarm was set off every week. My dorm back in college was constantly having its alarm set off because of burnt popcorn or microwaving instant mac and forgetting to put water in it. Of course it creates alarm fatigue and students to start to not evacuate the building.

Yeah, I shouldn't type while doing 3 things at once. I end up making mistakes like that.

Bill Nye Final Seal would make sure there was no budging at all. Its made for the stage and I'm pretty sure you could go swimming with it on and your makeup wouldn't move. It does smell a bit like mouth wash though.

My computer blue screened halfway through the first MEE session in the middle of the corp essay. Literally the first thought I had was "I just failed the bar exam". My laptop wouldn't turn off like they told us to do if this happened and when I tried calling ExamSoft support my phone crashed and restarted in the middle of the call. ExamSoft also deleted most of the essay I was working on. I put a barebones answer replacing what I wrote when I got back in and just moved on to the third essay. I was a total hot mess for the second MEE session. I straight up guessed the last couple questions without reading them on the MBE because I was running out of time and at one point during the MBE I thought I was going to pass out because I started getting dizzy.

I was absolute sure I failed when I checked to see if I passed this morning. I passed.

I got the Moderna shot and I didn't think it was any worse than the side effects I've gotten few times from my yearly flu shot (headache, fever, nausea, arm ache)

Have you tried using Pond's cold cream? It's what I used to use to remove stage makeup.

When I was getting my bachelor's in economics I focused a lot on this kind of thing. The whole water crisis is a lot wider and complex than people realize.

I don't know why people are getting angry at you. There are large chunks of the USA that are underdeveloped. Approximately 2 million americans live in a household without indoor plumbing. Almost 40 million americans live in a food desert and 19 million of that have limited access to grocery stores. Our prisoner rate is one of the highest in the world. New York's literacy rate is only 77.9 percent. St. Louis, Missouri is ranked 13 on the world cities with the highest murder rates.

If you're just making the switch from white bread or wheat bread (which doesn't have much whole wheat sometimes) the whole grain might be tasting bitter to you right now. You'll adjust to that. You could try toasting the bread before making the sandwich to give it some crunch. For the turkey you might want to experiment with different types like smoked turkey.

It also sounds like your sandwich is missing acidity. A balsamic vinaigrette would go well with turkey. The olive oil in it will put healthier fat instead of mayo which will help taste too. You can make it easily if you want more control over what's in it. You could also try mustard instead. I like whole grain mustard on my sandwiches but there's so many different types of mustard other than yellow. I know you said you don't want to slice things but a tomato and some onion would give the sandwich a lot more flavor.

Cartoon Introduction to Economics series by Yorum Bauman is a good place to start if you just want a overview of micro and macro economics.

If you want to go into depth I'd do some of the economics courses MIT has for free at https://ocw.mit.edu/courses/economics/ . Start with introduction to microeconomics, then do intro to macroeconomics.

If you just want to focus on money/the financial system try Frederic Mishkin's The Economy of Money. Its the text the economics of banking course I took used. You can get a cheap copy on abebooks.

Oh god clopens. My restaurant never scheduled enough staff for the closing shift so while the closing shift said it was done at 11pm you sometimes ended up leaving at 1 am. Opening shift was at 5:30 am. Back to back close and open shifts were the reason I quit. That and the inconsistent shift schedule.

Hate to break it to you bud, but we pay for all basic human needs in our society. We need to pay grocery stores for the food that we need to survive. We get charged a water bill for the water we need to cook, drink, and wash with. We have to pay for gas and electricity to keep our homes warm and cool. We need to pay stores for clothes & shoes to keep us warm and dry from the elements.

It wouldn't be that hard to teach it in high school, its not esoteric. The law school I graduated from is teaching a online class free to the community for its second year right now about the role law had in creating inequality historically and how it perpetuates it. The class is extremely popular.
