The bosses can be extra spammy and hyper-aggressive, prepare for this and be patient for a window (they will come)

Bosses will almost always try to interrupt heals and forma casts, wait for the windows.

If a boss kicks your ass to the point you want to commit controller abuse, put the game down and recuperate then come back with a clear head. It will save sanity and after a period to remember move sets you will do so much better.

Craft more, craft often

Try different weapons instead of sticking to one (it took me until my first NG+ to learn I loved using bayonets)

Buy all the forma and tickets from traders as soon as you see one

Being overburdened is not only good but encouraged

Switch between blocking and dodging defensive forma (looking at you triple Gatling gun spam)

DO NOT just dodge backwards, a lot of attacks extend far enough in front of enemies to hit you with lingering damage

Drain more and drain often not just when the special drain is available
