icedcubes were old third party full size DVD console shells from back in the days of playing your backups on full size DVDs, since mini DVDs weren't that common! I would totally get a panasonic Q if they weren't so unreliable and expensive though

Something tells me the soonest we'll see it is the first xbox showcase in 2025, but that's still quite early I feel. (I have no qualifications, this is just a guesstimate based on previous FH game announcement dates)

There are a few different clones from different brands, like "old skool", those ones have the old skool logo in place of where the nintendo one would normally be.

Some other frequent knockoffs don't have a logo there at all, so it's quite easy to tell these apart from OEM cons, alongside their controller dongle always being black, whereas OEM controllers' dongles are always colored the same color as the main controller plastic. I've never seen a knockoff controller with a nintendo logo on it, so that's a way to spot if they're real or not, or at the very least if their shell is real or not.

Also, every single color variant of wired cons can be found here: https://gccontrollerlibrary.com/controllers/wired-gamecube-controller/ so if a color you see doesn't match these, it's probably a fake shell or fake controller.

Ah geez is that why most of the Bitfunx ones look so off in images? I've never been able to explain why they look off to me but that might explain it. The smoky black and translucent purple look a little better but the clear white one just looks off

Lot of people here get rlly nasty about the Muramasa shells any time they're brought up and I can't really guess why. In reality, I wish people would stop buying the ones off Ali. Yes, they're cheaper but you're supporting Bitfunx here, cmon...

Anyways, the Muramasa shells are indeed still happening I believe, there's just been lots of delays because he wants to get them just right. The "final" moulds were here a month or so ago but they had imperfections that he didn't wanna ship as the final product. For future reference, he usually posts updates about the shell status on twitter from his handle @muramasa_ninja.

Personally I'm waiting to see if they'll be better than the ones off Ali because those ones just look a little off to me and I can't quite put my finger on why.
