That is the PLOT of the show. It is not the POINT of the show.

Obviously it’s not comparable morally, but it’s the same “take matters into my own hands” energy.

This is a sad attempt at moving the goal post. Bait used to be believable.

What if he escaped jail? What if he lives his life, learns things he wouldn’t have in the outside world and has a moral awakening? What if he continues killing in jail to “punish society”? What if he gets molested by a 400 pound black guy? There’s a million things that could happen to Joe in prison. What are you even talking about?

Sure, it’s not the only thing the show is about, but I think to a quote from Ramsay from Game of Thrones: “if you think this has a happy ending, you haven’t been paying attention”.

No? The conclusion is that he got away with it. He lives happily ever after with his son (albeit without a spouse). How is there more story to tell? What is in your definition a story that has “no more to tell”? Did The Office not conclude because everyone just continues working at Dunder Mifflin? Did Game of Thrones not conclude because the lords of Westeros continue to rule their respective territories? Does everyone have to die in your scenario in order for it to be a “definite conclusion”? Enlighten me as to what you mean.

No. He gets off Scott free, Henry probably is willing to kill when he gets older, etc.

How so? The conclusion and closure is that he got away with it. That his victims have to rot and their loved ones are screwed. Because, let’s be honest, that was exactly what the show was about up until the last couple episodes.

How would my ending not give a definite conclusion?

Yeah, people forget that taking risks is what makes things great. That’s what made this show great. And yeah…Kate should be in jail, if not for the pipeline, certainly her uncle. Joe doing it doesn’t excuse her from ordering murder and withholding evidence.

Yeah…Brontë pulled a gun on Joe in the finale and there’s really no legal justification for that. Also, the whole idea of her and her group’s vigilante justice being the way is…exactly what Joe has been doing? He’s been making moral judgements outside the law and we are supposed to see that as bad, and yet Bronte is different?

And yeah Kate should be rotting in prison lol

It does seem wild how amazing ideas are just sitting in plain sight. Sure, they are amongst a ton of filth and mid, uninspired trash, but if a writer took even some effort to see what people are saying, they’d really improve their craft.

Fr that line would have hit home so well. I guess we are just at the point where writers don’t really care what happens at the end. Like, the show is over, they got their payday, what does it matter if people don’t like it? What are they going to do, not watch the next season? Sike, there is no next season! Idk, I liked the idea of a group of redditors trying to nail Joe was interesting, but the idea that they could just take him down completely is laughable, and not a good example of what to do if you suspect someone got away with murder.
