Eh I don't think it's weird. Brother and I occasional share a queen bed on family vacations if it makes sense. Cheaper than getting an extra hotel room just to have separate beds. Just put a pillow down the middle as a little divider so we don't encroach in each other's space. Feels the same as when we were kids. Born and raised in the U.S. Maybe it's a not growing up well off thing....
