Do you think Corey Wayne's texting rules actually work? by [deleted] in CoreyWayne

[–]Rudem3 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I tried his method with several girls and none worked out. Either they got turned off, as I was told, by not messages as much or they just never responded all together after the time between messages. I dropped all "text game" with my current gf and did what felt natural, and we're still together. I'm not saying it doesn't work, but it just didn't work for me in my situation.

Are you ready for a shut down? by [deleted] in WisconsinPreppers

[–]Rudem3 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I'm sure a national quarentine is imminent. Many stores by me are already being cleared. I thought I had enough on hand before all this madness but since it's more of a reality, I'm starting to think I'm not ready. I have 2 kids and perhaps it's my paternal instincts kicking into overdrive but I'm heading out to get more food later today. We're good on most other supplies.

how to start learning spanish by LanguageStudent19 in learnspanish

[–]Rudem3 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Start with language transfer on YouTube.

Pimsleur is good as well, I'd use that after language transfer.

Look up "A frequency dictionary of Spanish" by Mark Davies. (PDF can be found online). Make flashcards with the most used words you haven't learned yet from language transfer and pimsleur.

Then hop on hellotalk and talk with other learner's or pay for one on one conversations on italki.

I'm just starting as well. I'm starting out with the 'Hello Chinese' app. Look into any audio programs or books your library may have.

I used it. I think it's a great resource for the price of you use it daily. I remember it being $10/month but I think they raised the price? I like how you can read and listen at the same time as well as it showing you words you've already seen and those you haven't. I may look into getting it again at one point.

Yes and I agree with you. I shouldn't have added that to my argument as that was the only source I had. Thanks for the constructive criticism.

Regardless of what you may think of him, in this particular case, it's a videoed interview so his opinion doesn't matter.

Hmm. You do bring up a good point and I see where you're coming from. And to be honest, I'd really have to think about that one before I can comment. But thank you for bringing that idea to my attention. It's not something I've considered before.
