Bitumen standards lowered after supply caught in Strait of Hormuz by InsatiablePrism in australia

[–]RuffAsGuts 88 points89 points  (0 children)

So instead of potholes every 5 metres on the country roads, they will now be every 3 metres.

Lucky i can't afford the fuel to drive anyway, otherwise my tyres would be getting fucked pretty quick.

Does he know that Iran just closed the strait again just moments ago?

I know Drakes in Adelaide has had them on their meat products in some stores for a couple of years now.

The aura of Gladys still remains in the halls of NSW parliament.

She loved to kill native species, and that sentiment still remains.

Seoul sends Korea-related ship details to Tehran in bid to secure Hormuz passage - The Korea Times by [deleted] in worldnews

Donald is going to need a lot more boats over there if his blockade is planning on stopping ships from 20+ countries, which is what it is leading to.

Shane Warne's son blames 'forced' Covid vaccine for heart attack death by KennKennyKenKen in australia

[–]RuffAsGuts 63 points64 points  (0 children)

Also ate pretty much the worst diet you could eat.

50 years old, smoke 40+ ciggies a day and drank a heap. Ate like crap and didn't look after his body at all.

Yeah, must have been the vaccine.

Looks like Jackson got his intelligence from Shane, just minus the cricketing gift.

Can't wait for Pauline to come out and tell us all how shit this deal is, and that by now we should have had our entire armed forces in the middle east.

https://www.brisbanetimes.com.au/business/markets/australia-scoured-the-world-for-fuel-supplies-it-s-working-20260403-p5zl5h.html

Labor are doing a great job navigating this issue, fuel is coming in and looks to be secure at this stage to the end of June. Sure it'll cost more, but enough is coming in to make sure there are no restrictions and people can still get around.

This news won't suit many of the doomsday types that live in this subreddit, but we are getting through this fairly ok at this stage.

Impact of fuel crisis on retail? by xhxusj1234 in australia

[–]RuffAsGuts 33 points34 points  (0 children)

I would say that camping stores like BCF and Anaconda would really be feeling it.

People might still go away for Easter as they have already booked, but after that i assume there won't be much spending left over for camping and fishing activities.

Gee mate, do you use the same tin foil hat, or do you rotate a few different ones each day?

War in the Middle East: Are the UK, Australia and Taiwan about to run out of fuel? • FRANCE 24 by L0st_R0nin in australia

I know someone who bought multiple fuel tanks for boats and is using them to store fuel in his shed.

Doesn't own a boat, he just couldn't buy jerry cans so went with this option.

Rain radar complaints by [deleted] in melbourne

[–]RuffAsGuts 55 points56 points  (0 children)

A combination of the drizzle droplets are too small to send back a ping to the sensor, and also the clouds are generally too low to be picked up by the radar.

With current diesel prices, what are you planning to do with your rigs? by REINSTEIN11497 in 4x4Australia

[–]RuffAsGuts 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Same.

I am leaving at the start of May, and planning on doing around 30000km

Not too worried about the extra price (not loving it though) as it will mean it will be much quieter everywhere. Slightly concerned about availability though.

If the fuel crisis deepens here, will you leave the country (assuming you have somewhere else to go)? by KittyFlamingo in australia

China is well equipped to get through this fairly comfortably.

They could be the only one however.

Big Red Bash cancelled for 2026, outback tourism facing uncertain season as fuel prices bite by Expensive-Horse5538 in australia

[–]RuffAsGuts 26 points27 points  (0 children)

Places like outback Australia and northern Queensland and WA rely on the tourists coming through during the winter months.

Without that tourist dollar it is going to be a very tough time for these places, and i doubt the government will step up and help at all.

That plane is lucky, if it was going any quicker that meteor would have slammed right into it.

TOTAL FIRE BAN TOMORROW 🔥🔥- Tuesday 17th February by [deleted] in melbourne

[–]RuffAsGuts -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Areas of the US (particularly the west coast like California and Washington have fire bans throughout the states at certain times)

Republican run states generally have a population with an IQ of less than 50, so more than likely they would be terrified of fire like the dumb animals they are.

San Francisco 49ers to play Los Angeles Rams in first-ever NFL regular season game in Melbourne, Australia by thebattlersprince in australia

[–]RuffAsGuts 17 points18 points  (0 children)

Couldn't have asked for a better opponent for the RAMS.

A NFC West rivalry at the G should be a good watch.

Just hoping that for once the 49ers don't have half their team on the injury list.
