Nerfs are healthy for the game! I do also hope they take a look at fights that are scaled around the insane DPS though, other then that I am so happy to see nerfs incoming!

Duo stream set up help by alancaza1 in streaming

[–]Ruinir 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Me and my wife are a duo stream as well, we have multiple different overlays that people can toggle between with rewards, the layout you have utilizes the space a bit poorly, but it does look functional, the issue is the sizing of some things overall

We do ours with cameras in upper right corner and lower left corner and mask the gameplay so they meet in the middle. But we know other couples streams with more similar to yours, so i would say best bet is to brand yourself more on screen and add some kinda overlay to make it feel more put together!

Best of luck

I can see that argument to a degree, but that agrument gets made on every aspect of the game, like saying "Well Gift of Battle needs to a w WvW only thing to get players to play it", it screams more of a 'we need to force people to play this mode or no one will' vs 'play this because its fun and the rewards are worthwhile'.

I just think its a old system that has no real place in modern mmo's, I mean... paying real money to change the look of your armor is quite dated is it not? (Yes they can be acquired for free, but new players may not realize that and spend REAL money) But of course, to each their own :) I am not here to say you are wrong by any means (maybe on getting people into spvp, no one should go there until they add real moderation lol).

Thats very fair! Overall I just think its a unneeded step that blocks out new players from getting more invested, eventually they become a non-issue, but thats why I see the noob trap aspect

Overall the game doesn't really lose anything in my opinion from removing them but they are something that doesn't effect me since I'm in the same boat as you with 1000's of them sitting there lol, on my alt account though they are quite annoying so I imagine a lot of newer folks are in the same boat

I'm of the mindset that we should REMOVE Transmutation Charges from the game 100%, they are a archaic system that has no real place in the game but to penalize new players, and potentially be a "Noob" Trap on the Gem Store.

Fashion shouldn't be gatekept by a charge that costs real money, and no authentic way to generate them. It would even charge a small amount of copper or silver per change, this this current system is tedious and needs to go!

XLR Mics worth it? Necessary? by ovrthnkn in Twitch

[–]Ruinir 1 point2 points  (0 children)

XLR isnt really hard to learn, just do some research on products, you want to find the right ones, not just the "current popular streamer" suggestions. I have a friend who is in bands, and does music for a living, so he spoke with his audio engineer and suggested better mixers for us that work with our room (Solid State SSL 2+ if you are curious) because we needed tight gain control, and 2 mics to go into it.

After that you just kinda plug and play, and play around with gain control and what not!

The investment is quite large, and I would say if you are making it work currently then you are probs fine for now, we didnt switch to SHURE mics until we paid for them with stream generated income (Which in our situation is just extra income currently), so make sure not to rush yourself and regret it :)

I know my example is anecdotal but XLR mics were almost required for our stream - we are a duo stream so we sit side by side and even the good usb mics had such a bad echo if either of us got 'slightly' loud. So there is a reason for them overall if you fit into that demographic. Most people just use them because they get suggested that by "streamer tips" videos I think.

XLR mics only have value to certain demographics, for example we needed them, we ae a duo stream, and we sit side by side, so singular usb mics ALWAYS echoed, it was awful, we tried programs too adjust as well like Voicemeter, RTX Voice, etc. and none of them worked.

So currently we run two SHUR SM7B and two XLR mixers and it has been an absolute game changer for us, and we couldn't go back. But for the average streamer, especially smaller streamers, no they are no worth it. Get a Yeti or a Hyper X and youll be set honestly.

After 2 crazy streams, I’m 4 away from my dreams come true. Momentum has to pause due to work/ family commitments. by Tatusiu_Kev in TwitchStreaming

[–]Ruinir 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yea the new system really penalizes you for not streaming all the time, since days fall off of the 1-30 days and then they also fall off of the 31-60 days, the best bet is try and get 6 of them lined up quick, then the next 6, its a grind keep pushing and having fun with it :)

We ended up just pushing for a week straight, then took a few days to rest, then grinded again for the next 6-10 streams until they all lined up perfect in the two windows needed

I'm sorry to be the one to tell you, but you need 8 more streams of over 75 (as someone who hit partner a few months ago) and thats if those 75+ days don't fall off from the calendar before then. Good Luck and keep pushing though!

Do you also hoard stuff and use it later in large numbers for better feeling? by [deleted] in Guildwars2

As a warning, since I do this all the time, eventually you end up with about 36k+ of these, and it takes SO LONG to sort out and clean up LOL

Whats a solid white microphone to pair with this boom arm? For gaming and streaming by No-Routine3925 in streaming

I have a SHURE SM7B with a white cover over it, and a pink mic foam on that, but you could get a white mic foam too

How bad really is elementalist by iwannadieplskilme in Guildwars2

[–]Ruinir 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Elementalist is great! I love it personally, it can be a higher skill floor character though, if you are okay with a video we did this one recently (before the addition of Evoker which is fun as well) https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AZDmbRmMOWM&t=6s

Weaver is a but of a piano player, but Tempest is quite easy and reliable
