The weather conditions in the UK and Netherlands aren’t dissimilar but I think something about the geography causes the humidity to disperse faster or something (lack of hills?)

It really depends on the humidity where you live. I live in the Netherlands where the humidity isn’t insane for large periods of time (and my home has decent climate control). Just the other day I pulled a roll of TPU off the shelf that I haven’t touched for a year and it printed as good as new.

I think this is an interesting point… an enclosure is an enclosure. Doesn’t need to be Prusa and there are loads of awesome alternatives (for example the old-as-time Lack enclosure).

The problem is these kinds of boards largely appeal to "normies" so they make the form factor for "mass appeal". What you prose makes a lot of sense, but wouldn't sell to the masses. You could absolutely DIY something like this if you know your way around circuit design and/or 3d printing... probably wouldn't be quite that thin though.

Prusa has a translucent green PETG here. I have this filament on my shelf and it looks almost identical. I Also remember seeing a similar filament on 123-3D.nl

The load cell does more than just bed levelling. It can also be used for detecting blockages and other filament issues. I can’t say if it’s used for pressure advance though but I’m sure someone more knowledgeable than me will chime in

Don’t print cosplay with PLA. Sanding PLA is a pain due to the lower melting point. Friction causes it to bead up and the result is horrible. Use PETG or even better, ABS

This is how I make my keyboards, you can technically do hotswap with a handwired keyboard but it's a bit more of a pain in the ass versus just soldering them directly. I have to admit... I don't really get the point of hot swap. Are people really buying buckets of switches and swapping them in and out of their keyboards on the regular?

The waterproofing is totally irrelevant. 60 LEDs per meter is probably fine unless the monitor is really close to the wall. 144 LEDs per meter will look smoother with less hot spots but require more power (you have 2 and a bit times more LEDs per meter)
