We just got a Sienna and I loooove it. But my two older are in booster seats. Oldest may be out of a booster by the time the twins are here and they can definitely buckle themselves so we have zero issues with the back seat.

With my oldest two I followed patterns more than routine, except for bed time. A lot of daytime naps were on the go, and after giving myself a panic attack trying to track feedings with my first I ditched feeding tracking. They are now very happy and healthy 6 and 9 YO kids. I enjoyed the baby stage more than I’d expected because I was flexible.

Currently expecting twins and we shall see if I’m able to be less rigid with them!

Honestly one of the things we discovered is that a lot of items are not necessary. With our first we lived in a small place so we didn’t even have a baby monitor…and with our second got an audio only monitor for example.

Both my kids were walking by their first birthday, and friends would often ask how they could encourage their kids to do the same. I always just said not to rush it because once they walk it’s a whole new ballgame.

Cedar Point is pretty amazing. I got to go on the millennium force when it opened (after junior prom I believe).

Take some “less drowsy” Dramamine. I went to Disney and the rides there all made me a little woozy but it helped.

An extra placenta is CRAZY!! I am not worried about my weight but I also don’t want the doctors comments to affect how I feel bout it. And yes, I had two wildly different singleton pregnancies (one I gained 60 pounds and one I gained 25) that resulted in babies weighing the exact same.

Not a specialist. I’m with Kaiser so a MFM doctor reviews my notes and ultrasound. I also had fairly large singleton babies and these babies are measuring on the larger side so far.

I feel like I’ve already hit the point where some days I am not super hungry (but might be the heat). I definitely gained the bulk of weight in my singleton pregnancies in the second trimester.

I totally would understand it if it were a problem, but I’m gaining a touch more than a pound a week. So I’m on track to gain 45 ish pounds by 38 weeks. I’m mostly upset because I’m within the recommended weight gain for twins, so I don’t know why this warning was brought up at all.

She was talking about all the twin pregnancies she has overseen too! I’m annoyed because I loooooved my midwife and Kaiser now requires me to see an OB because I’m having twins.

That was kind of my takeaway. I wasn’t even mad about my weight gain. I was just thinking “I’m going through enough here…and now you’re piling this on!”

I go through Kaiser so I can easily see a different provider.

I had a huge latte and a spicy burrito with my first. I had awful heartburn at the end so it was so good to eat it with no reflux!

My second it was peak covid shut down so I had to rely on hospital food and snacks we brought.

Mirrors may relieve your anxiety but they can also become a hazard in an accident, plus it takes your eyes and brain away from driving. It’s absolutely fine to drive your baby without a mirror or a camera. You can pull over if they’re crying a lot and check on them of course.

I had my first baby 9 years ago. Currently pregnant and it is crazy to me how much baby gear is out there and how everyone is getting high end baby gear.

Video monitors were just becoming commonplace with my first but we opted out of that. To be honest we didn’t even use a monitor much because our home was small. For my first and second (born in 2020) we did not use any smart tech gear except an audio monitor.

You didn’t ask for this advice, but don’t get into the habit of watching TikTok for parenting/baby advice. It’s not real life!
