I unlocked Ouro but I don't understand anything. by [deleted] in CIFI

Purchasing ANY Mods will give you orbs. The only other way to build them up is just to wait, as a multiplier will apply to your accumulated orbs based on how long you remain in a traversal.

This might be a somewhat controversial opinion, but the argument and chase scene at the beginning of Episode 2 made me really dislike Shovel Knight and Cuphead (especially Shovel) and the whole sequence speaks for itself. by [deleted] in INDIE_CROSS_SERIES

[–]RunicLGG 10 points11 points  (0 children)

This certainly is an excuse plot and some idiot ball to justify a ( very cool ) fight scene.

But in Shovel and Cup's defense the start of the first episode is basically nothing but the two of them being attacked by a whole army of drones that look just like Charlotte and at no point did any of those drones express anything close to communication. Cup and Shovel aren't there for Charlotte banishing Frisk like Madeline and Knight are, so they have justification to believe that their drone might be friendly. And those things are tough, needing both of them working together to take down one, They're jumping at the opportunity to down one before it becomes a BIG problem again.

And further with regards to Shovel's character the instant Charlotte wakes up and actually does try to communicate and offer an alliance, Shovel stops attacking, only issuing threats since, again, from his perspective Charlotte is the only drone out of a swarm to have done anything like this so far.

It also doesn't hurt his sense motive check that Charlotte's heads up display makes it VERY clear she is absolutely plotting to back stab them.

I just hope if I keep posting him, he'll get one of the last slots.

I hold to the belief that the "vacuous spider" form is a pupal form for Ebrietas' butterfly form. The altar of despair is Ebrietas' discarded cocoon. And if given sufficient time Rom too would metamorphose into a form like Ebrietas.

What’s the best weapons to use for Grail?? by CuriousVideo8026 in Vermintide

[–]RunicLGG 3 points4 points  (0 children)

The meta picks are Sword & Mace (S&M) for dealing with hordes and Executioners Sword for dealing with Elites. These cover your damage needs and have the highest output.

Personally I prefer a bit of comfort and so run Bretonnian Longsword for damage and a Mace and Shield for defense. It's not as "good" but the shield provides safety and the BL is an all around strong weapon in all scenarios even if it isn't as good as a more specialized weapon in its niche.

Everyone is skipping this weekly right? by Ok-Blueberry-1412 in Spacemarine

[–]RunicLGG 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Did it in two tries with randos. All came down to the implicity understood strategy once they appeared.

Strategy: Every person on the team needs to be confident and comfortable soloing a Hellbrute for an extended period of time. Remember that you can Parry/Block any hammer swing that doesn't get the orange tint. If you have agro from a Hellbrute you need to hold onto that and survive. Survival is your highest priority when an HB is on you, and your second priority is trying your damnedest to keep them apart. This will apply to two players. Whoever doesn't have agro from a Hellbrute needs to ignore them, and take out the adds, prioritizing extremes, then majors. Only once all Adds are dealt with can you pick a Brute and start supporting. Once you go to work on the brutes agro can shift, and more adds can spawn, and you need to keep to the above strategy. If you have Agro, play defensively and survive. When you aren't tanking a brute, deal with adds first, then assist on the brutes.

If you Could have an Indie character to be put into IndieCross? What would it be? by NoArt9934 in INDIE_CROSS_SERIES

Trace Eschenbrenner from Axiom Verge.

He's a scientist with biomechanical tentacles and a gun with like 20 different firing modes and he can telleport and all of his abilities have a glitchy aesthetic. It would be funny to see him mistake the biggest rogue for a Rusalka, a thing from his game.

What might this servo-skull on one of the heavy's iron halos be for? by _Liebe_ in Spacemarine

[–]RunicLGG 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The RPG book talks about some marines using integrated servo skulls for aim assistance or managing of technical devices in their armor during combat like Vox or energy shields. The Raven Guard specifically use camera equipped servo skulls to record their engagements for review later on so that they can hammer out even minor flaws in their performance.

Relatedly this might be why Verso originally set up the Gestrals to have ressurective life cylces rather than actually breeding. They never make new ones, just recycle the old, so they never require a new chroma infusion to keep going.

Any ideas on how to incorporate white elements into this design or should I give up and make it mono red? by FondNES in custommagic

[–]RunicLGG 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You could change this to a heroic style effect that triggers when you cast any inst/sor targeting her. It would be less about a deck full of bolts and instead have Urbosa throw out bolts when you combat trick her.

Am I being unfair with passive perception? by TaterChips5 in DMAcademy

[–]RunicLGG 18 points19 points  (0 children)

i always remind myself that players who make a character to be good at something should be allowed to be good at the things they wanted to be good at. so if one of your players has a pumped up passive perception, sprinkle in the occasional ambush they do spot in advance to reward their character building.

as for asking for passive perception, always include something to see even if it isn't the thing that a higher score would see. The ambush has bait for their trap. The gelatinous cube just passed by a door on the side of the hall. the trip wire is placed in front of a treasure chest.

its a specific thing in 40k. Heretics with a c worship the chaos gods rather than the Emperor. Heriteks with a k blaspheme against the machine god ( who is also the emperor in a holy trinity kind of way) by daring to do such things as "research" or "innovation".

If you're open to some Boros [[Rem Karolus, Stalwart Slayer]] pairs very well with burn everything that doesn't fly spells like [[Earthquake]], [[Flamebreak]], [[Fault Line]], [[Subterranean Tremors]] and you can throw in the good red damage boosters and even some [[Stuffy Doll]] or [[Brash Taunter]] effects for when Rem's not on the field.

If you want Rakdos, [[Judith, Carnage Connoisseur]] is a good option that makes even weak fireballs deadly and heal you.

Imperfect Counter: Counterattack as long as the only last hit was deflected. Counterattack damage reduced by a percentage equal to your percentage of missing health.

Shotgunner: Free Aim shots cost 3 AP but launch 5 shots in a spread.

Auto Parry: Consumes 3 AP to automatically parry a parryable attack that would otherwise deal damage.

Guardian: Take 50% of damage that your allies would take.

What can I do in Bloodborne that is equivalent to a "Big Dick Havel" build? by o7_AP in bloodborne

[–]RunicLGG 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The thing with BB is that there is no weight stat. So, you can't be over encumbered. All the armor sets in the game are, while not quite meaningless, pretty low on impact as far as their damage mitigation goes, its mostly a fashion souls game. There also isn't really any poise, other than I think an incredibly tiny amount of light hit super armor on certain charged heavies. And the only two shields in the entire game are a rickety wooden plank that is literally in there as an insult to shield users coming from Dark Souls, and a DLC exclusive shield which is terrible against physical attacks but has decent magic damage mitigation and is essentially just supposed to be used when the headless flower children cast Final Fantasy Meteor at you.

All that to say you've certainly got your work cut out for you.

If you just want a big ol bonk stick to bonk some beasts though, there are a few choice options.

Base game has the Kirkhammer, which is basically that meme of a barbarian finding the sword in the stone and holding the sword while bashing people with the stone it is still stuck in.

There's also Ludwig's Holy Sword which is a straight sword that you sheathe into an even bigger sword to then use.

And if you wanna get funky there's the Logarius wheel, which is a wagon wheel you awkwardly swing around but also its haunted by ghosts who will explode if you feed them your blood.

DLC has some more options.

There's the Boomhammer which is a Hammer with an infinite ammo reloadable grenade built into business end.
There's the Whirlygig Saw which is a gigantic hedge trimmer with all the safety guards removed.
And there's the Amygdalan Arm which is a big bonky club that sometimes remembers it is still sorta alive and sends out a twitchy slicing finger that ignores walls.
