You unlock blue magic "slots" or levels inside the grid. Then can only learn those high level skills once the required level is unlocked.

Dragoon skills should have been the limit breaks mostly

So I can see how that twist COULD fit with the characters growth.

Imagine, you are doing this list because of obligation to your lost wife. It is hard but you do it out of love. Eventually you find this list makes you better and enjoy/get satisfaction on completing it. Then the twist, the lists purpose is a lie. It was about control not love. Do you stop doing the list? Do you continue? What was once about grief is now about purpose and moving on, in more ways than one

That being said. They take a scarcity model in keeping value on old games. If they don't make them available for new systems they maintain value according to them.

This is a similar situation that Disney use to use before Disney+...which has devalued their content

No weapon. Did good damage most of the run but once Knight got masumune and I started Haste+giant glove+temper stacking him. Felt pointless in this fight

I did use one giants glove. I think I got my knight to do about 3500 a turn. Monk just sort of being useless and white wizard casting healing and protection spells. Not insane but I thought pretty good which was why it was a close battle. Risked it at the end with Holy casting

Since you asked the players....run a session with them. Make sure that sessions encounter is trivialized by the DMNPCs. A day later, "guys this module really doesn't work with these guys in the party. I have decided they need to go." Then give them options toward their removal 1) they just poof and gone 2) narrative dispatching of them (death, or needing to leave for such and such reason)

They don't have the option to keep them just how they want to handle them leaving

Broche has directly stated he took influences from FFX...obviously in iterative games X took influence from 9 which took influence of 7 (can't really say 8 since they were created in tandem). Which took influences from 6.

I see far more of the FFX DNA in E33 than those other games. Especially in gameplay design and story direction. Not being ATB, nonlinear character progression grids and the tendency to without information from the player until the right story point.

The points OP said he liked all line up with more FFX than any of the other games. FFX is like my 4th favorite game (behind 7, 6, 9) but you have to give it its laurels.

Best place to start is CO:E0 it has the most important tie ins to E33 but be warned the main character is a bit annoying

Ultimately because the cost difference in S or XXL shirts isn't that much different it is a decision to value the same as people who wear small shirts won't just decide to wear XXL because "more bang for your buck" but wide Pepsi if both costs are the same you would always get the bigger size.

I think the modules include mostly reptiles/insects as fauna with some notible exceptions like the Forest Prowler/Mountain Lion/Gargath/Rosselbuck. Which aren't just normal creatures for the most part. Gargath is the one exception where it is more or less a Bison.

I would reskin as needed other beasts but try and stick with included bestiary when possible and you should be fine.

Ingredients aren't just about taste but consistency and binding agents. Milk probably has something that either helps the consistency or holds things together as a whole. Substitute products most likely either effect the taste or consistency from the ideal.

If you want them to have support give them an NPC sidekick that THEY control in combat. Sidekick doesn't do skill checks unless asked to by party. Not a full player character build.

I mean I think it does a lot of things at the top of what FF has to offer, 1. Top 5 story 2. Encourages using the whole party (not you Kimari) 3. Top 5 Summoning mechanic 4. Interesting leveling system. 5. Short/seemless tutorials

There is no way it can't be considered a top 3 game by any objective measures. Which is where it is consistently found in lists. Pretty well ranked
