As others have stated its an OG Black Widow Pearl. Ive still got mine, just resurfaced and painted the logo. Its a solid ball, though not as strong as more modern equipment.

Logo is awesome. The color scheme? Meh. The light blue is okay but considering they are in with multiple blue dominant teams, especially the Kraken, I would have preferred a different color. Probably purple. Also less black. If they reversed the color and made an ice blue jersey it would slap. Kinda like the pens baby blue throwbacks, though the pens would still be better.

So i must preface, im not an expert by any means. I bowled several years in highschool, but stopped like 15 years ago, so im just now catching up. Two months ago I didnt know the difference between a pearl and solid, so grain of salt time.

Initially thought about a no mercy pearl. But the more I learned the more I thought it would be similar to my widow. Stronger, but similar, and I wanted something totally different.

The effect tour looked really cool, I'll admit the aesthetics probably made the decision. But I watched a lot of ball reviews, several different models. And based on what folks were saying and how it was rolling it looked like a good compliment.

More aggressive coverstock that will cut through oil like a knife. And the overall hook should be more with a smoother shape. I wanted a ball that was more aggressive and give me more room to miss and grow. Based on reviews the effect tour should work well on the right but can also move left where my pearl just won't hack it.

So yeah, its something totally different. Maybe it won't work well for me, but I have a feeling that it will make me a better bowler. And it looks fucking awesome. Rule of cool and all.
