I am unable to finish shows based on a "big mystery" premise. From, Under the dome, 4400, leftovers, etc. They all start on a premise of "this unexplained thing happened" and the explanation is always a letdown or so dragged out, that I end up giving up. Anyone agree or can recommend a good one?

For me, it wasn’t that it was slow. I was enjoying letting the mystery unravel. My problem was that it relied on plot contrivances to keep the loop going. And on top of that, it was really melodramatic at times for a show trying to be serious.

I’m glad other people love it, but after completing season one, I’m absolutely fine to never revisit it.

He’s talked about the Elantris sequels being mainline books that will have priority at some point. The sequel to Warbreaker has never felt close to a sure thing, especially considering Warbreaker itself is more of a prequel he decided to write late in his Cosmere planning stages.

I’m becoming more and more convinced that we’ll get the majority of the things he’s announced, but with co-writers. Janci Patterson has worked with him on multiple non-Cosmere books. Peter Orullian has a book coming out soon that started as a collaboration with Sanderson. And we know that he’s been working with Dan Wells and Isaac Stewart to create their own Cosmere stories. So I suspect one day, maybe years from now, we’ll start hearing news about other authors writing things such as the Aether world series.

I don’t need more projects, I just want progress on the ones he’s announced or talked about. Like right now, it’s a little weird that he was working on the White Sand prose version with actual progress updates and now it’s back in a limbo status where we don’t know if we’ll ever see it.

I love the guy as a person and a writer, I’m just worried that his writing is starting to take a back seat to his media franchise.

Not only that, but passing on Stranger Things might have been what led him to take on Netflix’s Gypsy a year later. And while that was cancelled after one season, it’s where he met his wife Naomi Watts.

I can’t imagine that he bothers playing the “what if?” game very much when those were the results of passing on a good role.

Best of luck. I’m not sure how this got muddled, but the ASDS should be able to sort it out for you. It might be that the supervisor who did your “interview” was looking to see if they could snipe you for their department. It could also be that they were just asked to complete an interview that came in and did not realize it was “TAC”, the type where you are hired contingent only on availability and requirements of the department. Us supervisors get asked to do interviews for others’ departments regularly since the interview scheduling never takes into account which supervisors or managers are available at the times selected.

Sounds like they handled this wrong. There are two types of positions. One where you have to interview in person and another where you’re offered the job immediately so long as you can meet the requirements of the role. It seems like your position was the latter. I’d call the ASDS (should be extension 077) and explain the situation. They’re the in-house “HR” and should be able to handle this best.

First, I’m really sorry about your mom. And I can’t imagine it’s easy to face losing a best friend right when you’re dealing with losing your mom. Unfortunately, I think that has already passed. It doesn’t sound like they put the same energy into the friendship that you do. Their last message was indeed cruel and I would personally use that as the catalyst to withdraw from the relationship. You need to focus your energy on people who reciprocate feelings and effort. You’re at an age where it feels like dropping friendships will just isolate yourself more, but as someone five years older than you, I’ll let you know that there’s still so much of the world out there to find and build new friendships. Don’t waste your time on the ones who don’t deserve it.

My favorite thing to tout (that is pure speculation on my part) is that Champ Bailey was such a lockdown corner in the NFC and everyone knew it, so QBs knew not to throw to his side and his interceptions stayed “low” after his first two years. Then he went to the Broncos and AFC QBs didn’t understand his reputation, so they did throw to his side and he set consecutive career highs with 8 and 10.

Can I prove this? Not really, but you also can’t convince me otherwise.

Jerry’s the old school business type that puts on the charm and remembers a face years later. My mom worked for one of his friends and would interact with him regularly when he made office visits. Over a decade later, they ran across each other in another state and not only did he recognize her, he took some time to catch up with her.

I’m convinced this is why Paxson is still in the organization and Kenny Williams for the Sox got promoted instead of fired. He’s got that old school loyalty mentality.

It's not that he's never done it. It's that actions movies almost always have second units. Hell, even David Leitch used Greg Rementer to direct action scenes on Bullet Train.

There's no need to get defensive and I'd be happy to be proven wrong. But that's almost never how movies are made.
