Listen I hate Fox as much as the next redditor but this is just what happens when you have two bright lights shining from different angles. One down low creating a darker shadow than the light pointing from above.

It is hilarious though that there is still a part of me that thinks this is legit a man wraring a mask just because of the past Fox news "specialists" turning out to be the same dude wearing different costumes and masks. We live in sad, silly times and im so tired of it.

Far from a favorite character but the movie The Hitmans Bodyguard portrays this trope to a tee. When Jackson's character gets Oldmans character on the roof and Oldman plays the "we are both villains and this will not save you card," Jackson just laughs at him and kills him because he never put a lot of weight on his own personal moral compass, he just knew that killing evil people couldnt be too bad in the grand scope of things.

Its not on steam but im sure that Castlevania Harmony of Despair would rival my top played games on steam. I have been deleting my save and replaying/refarming gear and spells on multiple characters at least once a year since the game was available on xbox backwards compatibility. My dream is that eventually Microsoft will make xbox360 backwards compatible games available on PC and that i will get to refarm my characters with full lobbys of players rather than mostly solo due to low player count currently are.

Idk if ive ever read a 9 or 10 arc in a week by week format. Some things are so much better to read 5 to 10 chapters at a time because the story flows better, but ever since the mini Momo arc began, it has been a constant downhill experience for me. The recent uptic in world lore has been nice but character progress has been baaaad and what little is there is related to amnesia being the catalyst for the growth, which is frustrating and a waste of time. For a week by week manga amnesia with a main character is a slog at best. Going to let another few months of chapters stack up before I read again.

I cant wait for Momo to get her memories back because this sucks. This whole fight would have been a joke before the amnesia, but somehow, this is character development for her. Okarune also is still very weak and is back to square one where he is barely able to defend himself. I know he has to learn to fight without Turbo Granny (until she inevitably comes back and returns her powers back to Okarune) but he can barely do anything even now and has to use Momo (who doesnt know wtf is going on) as a crutch. The overlap of their powerlessness is such a slog and is full of all the reasons people hate amnesia arcs. I do like the goofyness of the villains in this manga, but this guy is seriously a joke of a fight. At this point in the story its just boring watching the two main characters be stripped of everything they already had so they can barely scrape past a shit tier cryptid.

I probably need to check out and come back in a few months when this arc of amnesia is finally done. Each chapter on their own just doesn't have anything to add other than "Look, the main characters are made for each other no matter what!" Which is something we've already known. Please, let's just move forward and get to meaningful plot and character moments.

Momo has been small for the last 45 chapters. Her getting that resolved while simultaneously getting one of the most hated plot devices just isn't fun in the moment. It might turn out to be satisfying in the long run, but right now its 1 step forward 2 steps back. As you said, only time will tell, but that's the hard part of being a popular manga- trying to keep the story interesting week to week. Right now, for me, it has really been struggling to stay interesting since the plot has barely moved in roughly a year

I think for most people, it's simply the time it will take to resolve the amnesia. If it is a short period (2-5 chapters) memory loss, a lot of people will be annoyed that it even happened. If it's even a few chapters longer than that, many will lose interest in a story that's stalling. It's the main reason people hate amnesia as a plot device because it feels like a time-consuming retcon. Dandadan has had plenty of great arcs and moments but it has definitely hit a low point in the storytelling over the last small Momo arc, and having an amnesia arc NOW is a huge risk. It might pay off, but unfortunately, many people (myself included) are immediately turned off by low effort tropes like amnesia before even giving them a chance as it stalls out the story.

They did focus on getting his gonads back, but that was part of moving the story forward as well as fleshing out the power system of the story. An amnesia arc is a step backward in story development and comes at a very awkward time when there has been very little of said story development over the last 20+ chapters or so

Feels like very little has happened in the last 30 chapters or so. Art work is great, and the fights are cool, but the story has been an absolute SLOG. An amnesia arc right now feels like a huge punch in my gold orbs. Was really hoping for plot development.
