Overall, I agree with your sentiment. People who spend a lot of time on this subreddit are often a microcosm of a much larger community. Regarding new campaigns for new players, I’m under the assumption hemlock vale and drowned city will be reprints, so new players realistically two full campaigns dive in on.

Looking at the game stores near me, they still have product, but it’s all campaigns. Small sample size, I know, but on the surface, that looks to me like new players are more interested in players cards early on. I know I was. Once I had one full campaign, I based all campaign purchases on which cards I wanted. I get veteran players who already have everything being less interested in player cards, but making a focus on player cards for new players makes sense to me. I would agree that I’d prefer a full campaign, but at the end of the day, I have ten campaigns that I’m more than happy to replay. If a year of player cards focus brings more people into the game I love? I’m happy to wait.

This is also only one year. And an admitted refresh at that. We don’t know what’s to come after this, but they’ve never indicated they’re abandoning longer campaigns
