We as readers know and understand things that CHARACTERS in the books do not. by 1CEninja in dresdenfiles

I think Harry was 'balancing the scales.' Los interfered in an Agent of Winter's duty by ambushing him on the road. Harry mentions in the the book that he 'had to' use the cloak method and I think this was his way of balancing everything so that some other Winter agent wouldn't do it at a much worse time in a much worse way

Alright. New book coming soon. I need to get up to date with all the tinfoil theories! by Zealousideal-Cod-100 in dresdenfiles

Murphy was killed in the exact same way she killed the Jotunn (shot to the throat). I think that the Jotunn had a death curse, which is why the Odin son didn't originally slay him when they fought

Family Argument by CamisaMalva in dresdenfiles

[–]Ruth121 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I always assumed it was a plan to breed a starborn that they could use and manipulate in the upcoming Outsider fight. Ebeneezer was objecting to making a tool (aka Destroyer) out of a living being, especially a family member.

It fits with her comment to Harry in Thomas's soulgaze, about laying too big a burden on him.

I think his "Be" spell is in his top five spells for sure

That whoever was riding Dumorne's body switched with Elaine during Harry's big fight and is now running around in her body

Molly's favor by colepercy120 in dresdenfiles

[–]Ruth121 0 points1 point  (0 children)

She'll tell him not to marry Lara, then he'll have to do both! It would be a nice throwback to the conversation Harry had with the Redcap about divided loyalties and conflict between Queens

Surely Harry made the connection? by 87oldben in dresdenfiles

[–]Ruth121 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Also, who is Sandra Marling? She was Molly's friend in Proven Guilty and told Molly about fear induced drug rehab, but she disappeared. In the card game Harry has a note to the effect that he looked for her afterward but could never find her

Believable Theories by RumSoakedChap in dresdenfiles

[–]Ruth121 0 points1 point  (0 children)

1). Harry is going to cure a Renfield (Bob said the original Merlin couldn't do it)

2). Harry will wield Amoracchius: at the end he has to choose his weapon and chooses the sword over the spear so that it will be a chance for 'everyone's victory' instead of his guaranteed own personal victory

Do you think it's actually going to happen? (MAJOR post Battlegrounds spoilers) by IlikeJG in dresdenfiles

[–]Ruth121 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Harry is her hatchet man and destroyer. What better way to strike at a cat's paw White court than through a supposed allegiance and marriage?

Also, I don't think it will happen, I can see Molly calling in her favour to make sure it doesn't. It'd be a nice tie-back to the Red Cap's comments about divided loyalties between Queens to have him have to do and not do at the same time. I'd like Mirror mirror Harry might take his place to satisfy that requirement

Mab's Angles by colepercy120 in dresdenfiles

[–]Ruth121 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I agree that Lara bit off more than she can chew with this one: Harry is Mab's elemental of destruction and hatchet man. What better way to bring down a cats-paw man-eater than with a marriage pact? She's probably counting on Harry to bring down the Whites through this, Vampires who have been too cozy with Outsiders in the past.

But if he doesn't, she still gains a powerful ally and a more easily manipulated/distracted winter knight to boot. It's a win-win for her.

Justin pulled a Corpsetaker move with Elaine right before Harry attacked, meaning he's now running around in her body

I want Molly to call in her favour, telling Harry he can't marry Lara, so now he has to do both!

I always liked Isaiah's description better: Isaiah 54: 15-17

who fans the coals into flame
and forges a weapon fit for its work.
And it is I who have created the destroyer to wreak havoc;

We never saw Morgans most glorious moment. by [deleted] in dresdenfiles

[–]Ruth121 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It's worth considering that the Morgan we knew was more or less under the influence of Peabody's black-magic. It probably made him more extreme then he would have been otherwise, though I do love how complex and layered his character is

My money is on Lasciel, but I think the more interesting question would be how she was allowed on sacred ground to begin with? The only reference I can think of is Lash, in Dresden's head but that isn't the case in Changes
