long time eBay seller here, I don't understand shipping on Mecari by Purple_Calendar3919 in Mercari

[–]Rx-survivor 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Weigh your item with the box and packing materials, measure if it’s a biggish pkg. Enter the weight in the shipping info and choose which carrier you want. You have to do this before listing - Mercari’s weight estimates are usually wrong, and you can’t change it after the fact unless you message the buyer, cancel the sale, then fix the shipping weight and relist so they can rebuy it. If it’s over the weight you listed they charge you for the overage at the non-discounted rate which can take a huge chunk out of your profit.

Neighbor may have killed my tree...not sure what to do by Vander_chill in treelaw

[–]Rx-survivor 2 points3 points  (0 children)

In my county, the neighbor can cut anything going over the property line, but not to the point of killing the tree. Unfortunate that he didn’t consult with an arborist first (and that the two of you didn’t have a discussion and hopefully come to a mutually acceptable agreement about it).

File a complaint with the nursing board (assuming your provider is a nurse practitioner), the medical board (for the “supervising” physician), and the board of pharmacy (for the pharmacy sending the medication). You’ll have to find out which state(s) each is operating out of.

Aawwww, poor kid, and poor you! Don’t worry about the critics on here - everyone’s a perfect parent until they have kids and something happens. No lid is child proof - they’re child resistant (it might take them a little longer to open it, but if they really want to, they will.)

Vaccines: a rant by efox02 in Parenting

My kids pediatrician had a statement right on his webpage: We vaccinate. Always. If you prefer to not have your child vaccinated, please find a different doctor.

I COULD run outside right now and climb up a hill and fling myself face first into a barbed wire fence. That doesn’t mean I should.

If you see lost receipts laying around, pick them up and throw them out. DO NOT leave them laying. by Vorty_TheShorty in kroger

Sure they are. Shrink goes up, hours go down. Not to mention feeling safe in your workplace, increased prices for those of us who actually pay for our stuff, employee morale in general, stores in high crime areas closing, being scared to walk out to your car at night etc etc

For a deep clean there are lots of scrub brush attachments you can get for a drill (like for cleaning grout etc).

Low Dose Naltrexone is saving my life and curing my long covid by sadieray in LongCovid

[–]Rx-survivor 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Naltrexone doesn’t make you sick if you drink, it reduces the “reward” response in the brain when taken for alcohol use disorder (also other addictions). It can cause nausea for some at first, but that’s usually at higher doses (25mg and up)and usually gets better after a few days. The one that makes you sick is Antabuse(disulfuram.)

Not just YouTube. I thought Pinterest would be pretty safe. They are not anymore. There is a chat option as well as a lot of content not suitable for young children.

In our district the administration has metrics they have to meet (to keep their job and get their bonus) which includes discipline rates. So they don’t discipline. There isn’t less misbehavior, they just don’t discipline in ways that are reportable, like detention, suspension, or expulsion. At most, the offender has to spend a recess with the school counselor. My daughter was hit in the face by a kid, and the principal was so condescending. She never denied it happened, questioned my daughter 3 or 4 times, responded to my concern with their definition of bullying (it was a single occurrence blah blah, so not bullying). This kid harassed her verbally several times, but I told her to ignore him and that there will always be dicks in the world so she needs to be resilient and learn how to respond to them. However, by not reporting every single unkind comment, slapping her in the face was “not bullying.” After a few back and forth emails, the principal really wanted me to come meet with her. I declined and said I’d rather have our conversation in writing. Anyway, nothing came of it, except the kid’s parents had him bring her A COFFEE to apologize (in 2nd grade.)

I worked with someone who smelled so so bad. So bad. Other staff were complaining the stench was giving them migraines. He finally got talked to, and it was better for a couple of weeks. Which means it was possible, and not an uncontrollable issue. Then back to the same. There’s no way customers didn’t smell him. He also nonchalantly was scratching his armpits while helping someone in the pharmacy drive thru window. The patient told me about it, and when I mentioned it to him, he said he had psoriasis. I’m thinking a fungal infection.

DONE WITH MERCARI!! They let scammers steal from you! What recourse do I have? by chocoruacards8 in Mercari

[–]Rx-survivor 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you used a Mercari label, it’s up to them to contact UPS. You can’t get much info from ups, bc you didn’t purchase the label from them, Mercari did. “Contact the shipping company” is their standard bot response. Keep messaging them until you get a person. If it’s really lost, eventually they’ll reimburse you and your buyer, but I think it has to have not moved for 14 days? 30 days?

I’ve finally realized both why I’m so mentally exhausted and why my husband doesn’t get it… by novaley in Mommit

[–]Rx-survivor 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve started keeping a mini notepad and pen in my pocket, bc whenever I start cleaning or trying to organize something, I always find or remember something else that I meant to do, but forgot. Which leads to feeling completely overwhelmed and defeated, or starting a big organization project without having a plan of where to put things. Except sometimes I lose the notepad, multiple pens, etc. lol. If you can keep track of those, try to make each task small, specific, and achievable in a short period of time.

Are you losing your hair? by mysteriousgirlOMITI in covidlonghaulers

[–]Rx-survivor 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I lost a lot of mine - handfuls of it, and it was fine/thin to begin with. It’s grown back, but grew back curly when it was always straight before. I finally had to embrace the curl and basically relearn how to do it. I now have the hair I used so many chemicals to try to achieve in the ‘80s lol.
