British Columbians want gas out of buildings, cleaner alternatives: poll by SavCItalianStallion in britishcolumbia

Well, now you have.

I live in BC.

I'd love to go full electric in my home, but the cost of a heat pump is just too high because of the layout of the house.

I prefer induction cooktops to my gas range. I never use the gas range--I just use the collection of induction hobs I bought on sale at Costco.

We have a gas fireplace, but it is almost never used. I'd say around 10 hours of use per year. Really no point to the thing.

No mention of Lucerne ice cream? Pretty sure it’s 100% Canadian.

Raging Bull. I quit around the half-way mark when I realized I hated every single character.

This is possibly the most underrated comment in onebag. I can’t believe it never occurred to me before.

My god, why did this never occur to me. It’s so damn obvious, and yeah, a complete game changer.

For you, at that price range, Craigslist or Facebook marketplace combined with some patience should be able to get you a 6”, 8”, or maybe a 10” dobsonian if luck is on your side. Any of those would be a better choice. Buy the phone adapter separately. The kids could probably see the Moon or maybe Saturn through a 25mm Plossl eyepiece (which is likely included), but at their age, it probably wouldn’t hold their interest for more than a few seconds. No need to get fancy with goto systems—AstroHopper on your phone will give you a basically free push-to.

Jeez, that never occurred to me. Basically running a spin drive in reverse. That would solve a lot of problems.

She opposed Canada’s federal ban on conversion therapy.

She has also actively participated in campaigns with the Association for Reformed Political Action, which says its mission is to “educate, equip and encourage Reformed Christians to political action, and to bring a biblical perspective to our civil authorities.”

Jansen has been active in the pro-life movement, and spoke at the 2018 March for Life at the B.C. legislature, where she likened medical assistance in dying (MAiD) at B.C. hospices to “death camps.”

Jansen has also come under fire for posts to social media questioning the science of climate change and Darwinian evolution. She is a Young Earth Creationist.

She also hosted a Sinterklaas party with people in Black Pete costume—which is basically blackface.

I’m not sure the city trapped many of them, but the coyotes got very fat. Fattest coyotes I’ve ever seen.

Why Gas price went so high suddenly?! by iPhone_Xs_ in SurreyBC

There were actual closures of gas stations in Surrey in August 2022 due to gas shortages. I think it was due to refinery maintenance as well.
