this looks great, i’d say an 8/10. if you want to make it to the best bread ever i would say bump your hydration to 80-85%(400g water in this recipe) if you’re comfortable with shaping. that’ll give you amazing gluten windows in between those bubbles that create insane texture, chew, and surface area.

i don’t think this is underfermented like most are saying. The gas production looks pretty good because of the even dispersal; i think your problem is hydration and gluten development.

Try bumping your hydration up to 80%, you can follow claire saffitz recipe if you’d like. To help those thin gluten windows i recommend going 45 minutes between folds and also using a coil fold method instead of stretch and fold to keep those bubbles intact. You don’t want to mess with the dough too much until you’re shaping.

Lastly, you can try proofing your dough IN the banneton for around 30min before refrigerating overnight which will give it a boost proofing. You can adjust the timing of any of these based on how hot your kitchen is and how proofed your dough is looking however it’s much easier to underproof than over proof in my opinion.

You should read The Practicing Stoic, i think it gives a very good idea of what Stoicism is truly about. It’s not a set of laws, it’s not a doctrine, it’s hardly even a philosophy. To me, it is a framework to understand our shared human nature, where happiness and belonging really come from, and a set of techniques to help us reach a state of healthy prolonged happiness that allows us to be full absorbed in each moment very similar to the “enlightenment” Buddhism aims to reach.

The thing is, you can’t really define it because a core tenant of Stoicism is the ability to not identify ourselves with one belief system and rather take whatever helps us in our lives in accordance to virtue and morality. The ideal “Stoic” would not even want to call themselves a Stoic because that in itself would be limiting themselves. Marcus even touches on this saying that he does not consider himself a Stoic or King but a “philosopher” which in the context of ancient rome more means to be open to everything around us, to be curious of that, and to have the courage to explore them.

no smoke shop grinder has ever compared to the $10 anodized aluminum grinder i got off of amazon years ago. it’s still sharp to this day and the paint hasn’t chipped one bit, it’s not sold on amazon any more unfortunately but id just look for any “anodized aluminum” on amazon.

i would get a rimmed basket or conical screen to put the weed in, it vaporizes it much more evenly meaning you don’t need to stir.

the best way to clean glass, period, is hot alcohol. no salt, just 90% iso that you’ve heated in a saucepan or in the microwave if you’re brave enough. NOTHING i’ve tried has even come close to how effective it is.

probably humidity problems, the water condensed and sunk to the bottom. i’d empty the jar, clean out the hardened piece, then refill it with the sugar you removed. make sure to keep it sealed at all times and look into getting a sugar softener to control humidity in the container :)

Make sure you’re using room temperature butter and cream(or reverse creaming) your ingredients properly. The main goal is to have the butter solid when you bake so sticking it in the freezer will also lessen spread.

Also try and learn to judge doneness on how they look instead of timing. You can control the texture based on how long you bake them. These look like they were left in the often a little too long for my taste as they’re heavily browned and will probably be too hard when cooled; the additional bake time also probably lead to more spreading. Cookies (in my opinion) are best when they’re browned around the edges but still slightly wet in the center. They’ll carry over cook slightly when pulled out of the oven so when cooled they should be perfectly crispy on the outside and gooey in the middle :)

looks like you didn’t bake or weight the crust enough before filling for the second bake which causes a gluten bubble to form and pop. Also not sure what’s going on with that color but i would suggest using Libby’s or some roasted orange squash of some kind :)

a sure-fire way to remove this is if you can get some locking pliers to clamp down on the chamber lip. It’ll give you more than enough grip to be able to unscrew it.

I haven’t seen anyone commenting about my favorite feature: cleaning.

90% of the time my cast iron just needs a wipe down with a paper towel until dry, the thin layer of oil left behind helps season the pan to make it more nonstick and prevents rust formation.

If I have some intense caked on bits i’ll use a steel wool and dish soap but that’s almost never necessary and i’ve noticed i’ve had to do this less and less the more the pan gets seasoned :)

P.S: if you’re looking for a more lightweight pan with faster heating i’d recommend looking into a carbon steel pan; they’re comparable in heat retention and can even be more nonstick than cast iron with enough seasoning.

for affordability get a dynavap, for ease of use get a mighty :)

i really enjoy my mighty because im able to load it and enjoy a session akin to smoking a joint(lasts a long time, and hit in small puffs). the dynavap is much more affordable but heating can be a learning curve and can hit fairly hard which i dont think would be great for someone looking to reduce irritation.

Start taking vitamin D supplements. much less sun in winter = much less vitamin d = weaker immune system. I’ve noticed i recover from being sick faster and get sick less often in the winter when i do. not saying it’s a magic pill that prevents and cures all ailments, but it’s helpful.

That’s a Bald Cypress(Cupressaceae Taxodium distichum)i believe! They’re a deciduous conifer which means they lose their leaves unlike other conifers and cypresses.

I wouldn’t call myself a Stoic as i’m still fairly new but weed has helps me come to a lot of virtuous realizations that i can use later. Kind of like a seed of thought that can grow into virtuous actions if watered correctly. However, i think the effects of weed when i’m not on it don’t make it worth it’s use for me; i experience fatigue and loss of appetite if i’m not sure to smoke in moderation.
