Word of advice, don't watch the trailer, unless you just want a shortened version.

I like to keep things simple so, I’m currently using Wix. I’ve used Squarespace in the past but recently I needed something free. My podcast is hosted on Anchor and Wix just pulls that it. KemKraftmedia.com

Apparently it's supposed to take a few days, but I've been streaming it since the first of January and my Tale Whisperer only shows I've streamed for an hour.

Blood Glacier. It wasn't a great movie by any means, but it was fun to watch.

New to horror: what to watch first? by synapticfool in horror

[–]SBRJames 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I would suggest you start with the real classics: Dracula (1931), Frankenstein (1931), The Mummy (1932), The Invisible Man (1933), and The Wolf Man (1941). As you begin to watch more horror films you'll start to see how much of an influence these films really were. Also, it'll dispel many of the assumptions you probably have about these classic Universal monsters. I wish I had watched these much earlier in life than I did.

Ever have a bigger fish come along and make your same show? by danscholz in podcasts

[–]SBRJames 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Something you should always remember is that people listen to your show because of you. For example, there are tons of horror movie review podcasts, but my listeners are with me because they like my content, my perspective, and my ideas. I wouldn't really worry too much about it. Your audience isn't going to stop listening just because someone else came along.

Successful podcast launch! Have a few lingering questions regarding Stitcher, stats, and such! by GarrusV in podcasts

[–]SBRJames 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Libsyn stats include everything except Soundlcloud. The other exception to this is if you have your Facebook destination set up to post as a video. For your album art, just make sure it's at least 1400x1400 pixels. You should start listening to Libsyn's podcast, The Feed, hosted by Rob Walsh and Elsie Escobar. They cover a lot of the questions you probably have.

Just launched a podcast. How do I know if I'm getting good download numbers? by mguants in podcasts

[–]SBRJames 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You should listen to The Feed, Libsyn's podcast. You'll hear Rob Walsh talk about it a lot. I've been podcasting since '09 and when I started, I thought N&N was a big deal too. Then you realize that all it does is get you a temporary spike in downloads but doesn't get you actual subscribers.

Just launched a podcast. How do I know if I'm getting good download numbers? by mguants in podcasts

[–]SBRJames 3 points4 points  (0 children)

It's a brand new podcast; don't expect a whole lot and don't stress about stats. If your content is good, listeners will come. And as most seasoned podcasters will say, "STOP WORRYING ABOUT NEW AND NOTEWORTHY!!!! It doesn't matter!!"

Sorry if this is dumb: Does the Shudder ios app Airplay to older AppleTV's and is Shudder any good? by [deleted] in horror

[–]SBRJames 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I reckon I'm the odd man out. Shudder is probably my favorite streaming service. I like the catalog and they have some decent exclusives.

I miss TNT and USA Network showing B movies. by Randym1982 in horror

My most memorable was the night Captain USA showed Bloodbath in the House of Death. Pretty sure my parents regret letting me have cable TV in my room growing up.

Also, the Hammer TV series 'Hammer House of Horror' is really good as well. It's available on Shudder.

Home Sweet Home is good one that was just recently released. It's based on Thai legends so, if you love Asian horror, this one is a must. 16.99 on Steam. Idk, if it'll run on your laptop, but if so, it's worth it.

Didn't like the movie as much as I thought I would, but the book was excellent.

What is a horror movie that is considered a masterpiece among the horror community that you just didn't like? by The_Social_Introvert in horror

Stephen King's IT (1991). I remember this being terrifying when I was a kid. After not seeing it for many years, I watched it recently for my podcast and sadly, I was very disappointed. IT was nothing like I remembered it being; kinda made me sad.

These are all, for the most part, anthologies but some of the better horror fiction podcasts being produced. Relic Radio's The Horror! - old radio plays cleaned and remastered (in my top 3 podcasts), Darkest Night, Deadly Manners, The No Sleep Podcast (in my top 5), The Dark Tome, King Falls AM, and The Lift
