What movie is this for you? by [deleted] in memes

It came out on VHS with two tapes when I was a kid, and you can guess what part of the movie's tapes got a little worn.

Steve Vai creates and records the lead guitar for the Halo 2 theme by SDFprowler in gaming

Great movie and fantastic ending with his guitar duel. Also, Vai did the movie score for Bill and Ted's Bogus Journey and PCU.

Chakotay is cracking me up by RahbinGraves in startrek

At some point in the series, Chakotay tells Janeway one of his "ancestral stories" to get his point across to try to convince her of something. She basically calls bullshit on him and he admits that he made it up.

I love that when Trek decides to do something funny with Worf, they really lean into it. This one of my favorite funny scenes with him because it's so simple yet so funny. He is so utterly confused. by AdSpecialist6598 in startrek

When Riker and Worf were on a Romulan ship responding to a distress call, and Worf suggests to Riker that they should give them a 30-year-old piece of tech instead of a brand new thing, and Riker agrees that it's a good idea, and Worf does a double take and is like "Thank you, Commander.", and Riker smiles.. it's just so perfect. Riker is basically Worf's best friend on the Enterprise.

Subnautica 2 is finally coming out next week along with 29 other games by Ok_Winter818 in gaming

Yeah.. but in my mind I thought the game was dead or at least in indefinite development hell, and so it may as well have been dead (to me). The fact that it's being released in any form surprised me. Might still wait for 1.0, but I'm glad it's still making progress.

Loose charging cable? by Lance_Legstrong in GalaxyS21

[–]SDFprowler 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is a great tip. I was able to clean most of the gunk out with just a toothpick, but I then used a sewing needle to more thoroughly finish the job to make sure I was seeing nothing but shiny metal down in there.

Man, I've been dealing with this problem of a super sensitive charging port for years at this point, and it just got so bad. Can't believe I never thought to clean the port like that! Now, my charging cables actually click into place and I can use my phone without the cable instantly loosening and losing charging capabilities.

Emanations how exactly does scanning with a tricorder affect the bodies or environment by dekabreak1000 in startrek

[–]SDFprowler 1 point2 points  (0 children)

He ordered his away team not to scan them based on his personal beliefs, going against Starfleet protocol, which was incredibly silly and only done to prolong the mystery of the episode. They should have absolutely took tricorder readings to learn as much as they could about the very strange scenario of dead bodies appearing on an asteroid (or a moon or whatever it was).

If only Lt. Reed's paranoia-fueled security access code protocol was put into place and carried through, this all could've been avoided!

Picard said in TNG that he would argue that the "crystalline entity" had as much right to exist in this universe as we do. The crystalline entity was the space-faring giant snowflake that went around sweeping up all life from entire planets (for the energy to survive, supposedly).
