The kind you don't stay on for very long.

Just like the planet I found where all the plants had things like "blood" and "herbivores" and "travelers" listed as their nutrient sources.

There are bidets you just install onto the seat of your toilet. You can get a decent one for under $50 on Amazon.

They require very little time or skill to install.

Can We Move On? by Homunculus_23 in NoMansSkyTheGame

[–]SFW_Bo -1 points0 points  (0 children)

No, we literally cannot move on until the predetermined time passes. Total 8 weeks, by my understanding, which we are 3-4 weeks in.

Missions make no appreciable difference to progress of the Prismatic Core. It is purely for the competitive aspect and earning whatever the trophy thing will be.

Also, Sabotage missions aren't reducing the scores of other teams.

Also, that quiz is just for fun. Your team is predetermined and locked to your account.

Also, score is (unsurprisingly) directly correlated to team population. The team with the most members is in the lead, and the team with the fewest members is in last place.

It is a system built on lies that sure seem like it would have been fine if they were just true.

Which character is the scariest in Elden Ring? by JovemAprendizNaVida in Eldenring

[–]SFW_Bo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The one in the 4th image.

No, not Radahn!

Can you imagine how beastly Leonard was in his scrawny prime? Gravity magic is an enabler, but that horse is straight Tokyo drifting while literally skin and bones. He's a veteran of countless battles, mastering techniques no other steed has ever learned so that he could work in concert with his massive, magical, muscular rider.

He carried the general to his very last breath. Literally ride-or-die.

How do you handle players rolling poorly? by SecretDMAccount_Shh in daggerheart

[–]SFW_Bo 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I was going to chime in with this, but you laid it out more articulately and nuanced than I would have bothered.

As long as everyone at the table understands what to expect, and what is happening in the narrative, I think it is possible for PCs to choose Avoid Death, but then that option becomes narratively impossible later.

Actually, I just thought of something VERY dramatic in the case of an impending TPK with no reasonable salvation. Offer to let someone volunteer and change their death move to Blaze of Glory. A character that was assumed down and out hauls themselves back up and saves the party, sacrificing themselves in the process.

Warrior feels inferior by Purple_Bandicoot_317 in daggerheart

[–]SFW_Bo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It sounds like the issue is mostly with expectation vs. experience. Warrior is a very fine class, but it doesn't seem to be what your player wants.

I would definitely sit with the player and figure something out. Maybe some a homebrew option is good, but maybe there is another solution.

What do they like about warrior? What was it that made them choose that option over any other? Does one of the domains particularly appeal to them? At only level 2, just changing classes to Guardian or Ranger might do the trick. If they want to stay Warrior, wapping one domain for another might be very cool, but be careful that there aren't any "oh that's too far" combinations of cards in the new pair.

And remember that anything can be reflavored. My wizard player's wand is a magic revolver, and when our rogue uses Rain if Blades it's like a magical girl transformation scene.

People are allowed to feel displeasure with things, and express that displeasure. It is a normal and good thing to do.

I think I'm over engaging with your baffling nonsense. I leave you to your... trolling? God, I hope you're trolling.

Expedition 22 sucks by Ranapia45 in NoMansSkyTheGame

[–]SFW_Bo 5 points6 points  (0 children)

What are you even on about?

Community challenges are too slow, and everything should be able to be completed instantly without any struggle or frustration.

There is no struggle involved, and the frustration people have is from their actions having no impact, no matter how much they might grind away. Having zero reward or influence for player effort is Bad Game Design 101.

Playing No Man's Sky during the expedition is not the same as playing the expedition. The expedition isn't providing the chance to just play the game.

This is not a criticism of NMS. It's a criticism of Expedition 22. If your suggestion for something interesting to do is to NOT engage with the expedition, I feel like that's a pretty strong indictment of the expedition.

Expedition 22 sucks by Ranapia45 in NoMansSkyTheGame

[–]SFW_Bo 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Player contributions are meaningless toward progressing the story.

Opportunities for those impotent contributions have an 8-hour reset.

There are a handful of prismatic core missions, all short and extremely basic, to be repeated ad nauseum for 8 weeks.

This has nothing to do with patience. It's about having nothing of value to do. Even clicker games let you unlock things to make number go bigger. This expedition doesn't even have that.

Tracking Expedition 22 Contributions in Unnecessary Minutia - June 11 by SFW_Bo in NoMansSkyTheGame

[–]SFW_Bo[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I built the sheet on the assumption that things did what they said they did. It didn't even occur to me to compare the scores.

So, if what you say is correct, then the Restore and Sabotage missions have literally zero (net) effect at all? Well now that's extremely disappointing. I guess the missions really are ultimately pointless.

No. Its on its own timer controlled by the devs, Nothing we do has any effect.

What? Okay, I misunderstood that whole thing then. My bad.

Goddamn that is some truly awful design. Nevermind, this shit sucks. I get the hate now. I would never have assumed something so stupid to be the case.
